Thanks, I spent weeks looking at rock work online. I knew what I wanted to mimic and when I got the rock in the mail from BRS there was no way without doing a lot cutting. So I spent a few nights trying different things and staying away from the wall look that I had once and hated it. I am happy with this its simple and minimal.

Your welcome.....I too have been googling reef aquascaping for weeks for ideas and inspirations. The best one I found was definately Thorly bonsai inspired reef. I love the fact that it looks like one gigantic piece of rock perfectly blended in with a monster overhang. BRS has the best baserock...However, they tend to send much larger pieces which are generally better than a ton of smaller rocks. But it really depends on your tank size (width/height). Its good to ask BRS the exact kind of rock you plan on keeping. Best think is always to hand pick your pieces..I have some really cool smaller pieces that pretty much seal the deal in terms of looks (the picture below is an example of one of my favorite piece which is only about 7" across and very porous/light weight

My overhang piece which is very lightweight. Note how I blended the epoxy with the rock...This is very hard to do with sloppy wet rock which passes as Live rock. Online LR is cheap for a reason, because it's only10% Live. Water drains from a rock immediately and having wet newspaper (besides keeping it moist), will not save anything. If you don't have aiptasia it's not LR...lol...buy 1 quality piece of Live rock for $8 per lb and your tank will thank you

when I placed my order I told BRS the size of my tank so they made sure to only send pieces that would fit. I let them choose what to send. I love the Pukani rock so porous!

Love the depth, open space, and the wall aquascape. I have never seen someone pull this off without ceramic... The wall was made by you right?

i find this the hardest part of reefing.

I think you did a fantastic job..It is hard because you never want to settle for something that sucks or will ultimately be torn down and re-done. I spend months planning and re-doing my aquascape. I am on a major re-boot of my tank and I heard someone say "moron cycle" Our tendancy to keep moving things around and messing with our equipment. Once your rockscape is good for your corals, fish, detrius buildup, there is nothing that will make you even think about tweeking things. I personally like to be able to move corals just incase they bleach (fingers cross) or need to be moved for whatever reasons (without ugly expoxy leftovers or damaging the base). I think I am going to drill holes 1/2" holes into my Rockscape and glue some 1' rods on the base of my larger acros. I want everything to fit like a puzzle but also be moved like a puzzle as I do eventually want to upgrade my system.

My humble entry. I have made more rock to cover the pvc frames but haven't taken new pictures yet. I still need to paint my white returns though.

Pond foam?? I'm not familiar with that, will be googling to figure out where to buy it and how it is used. Thanks for the reply

You can get the pond foam at lowes or HD. Just make sure you get the fit one. I used it in my old 220 for a foam wall. The stuff works great and coraline algae will grow on it in no time. I need some aquascape ideas for my new tank. It's 48 front to back!! I'm thinking a valley

I'm still putting together my new build of a 120 gallon system....and I keep getting more and more ideas as I read these threads.....makes me worried that I'm going to forget half of the ideas that I want to incorporate into my tank.....too many good ideas!!!
