hi, can anyone tell me if the odysea t-5 lighting system is any good? i am starting my 1st reef and was told about aquatraders.com and could not belive the prices. whats the deal? are theese good products@amazing prices ? or dose the old adage apply,youget what u pay 4?

Can't tell you about anything that lighting but I just purchased a 4 bulb t-5 from DF&S for $200 and it looks great. Came with moonlights, a fan, 2 actinics, and 2 daylight bulbs

You get what you pay for......bad, short life bulbs. excessive heat in fixture and no spare parts if something breaks. I would stay away IMHO.

thank you for responding. ive seen the system in DF&S you are talking about,andthat is probably the 1 ill get. I am starting a 55gal and iwill no doubt have many more questions as igo. SO thanks again for the responses

Stay away, in case you did not notice it is not a t-5's that are selling it is t-6's. I have never heard of a t-6.

With a reef tank I think lighting is one of the most important piece of equipment. Do not scrimp with this, buy as much lighting as you can afford. T-5s HO 4 bulb fixture on the 55 should do you well for most coral and clams, I would go for the 6 bulb and never have to worry, but you can always upgrade when you are ready.

My favorite word UPGRADE!!!!! Now if I can get my wife to love that word!
