was wondering if the bluestriped clowns are sold anywhere? Does anyone have a pair...would love to see some photos. I have a percula & black clown that's paired up. I've always been interested in the bluestripe.

I bought a large pair from Ibuewater. Mine are actually the pic of the bluestripe pair on their wysiwyg section on their site. one of my fav clowns.

I got a small pair from ibluewater almost a year ago. Quarantined and came in healthy and always been since.

Yes, but usually have to buy online. As stated ibluewater has some nice fish

I will get you some pics of mine

From my understanding, they are only allowed to capture so many fish per year, and those numbers are very low. So yes they are for sale, but I doubt you'll ever see them in a store.

They are from the clarki complex and act and grow accordingly. Large one are sweet looking. Maybe whip can post some pics of his giants?

Make sure you know what you're doing with these guys. Chrysos are very sensitive and susceptible to disease when they first come in but if you get them past the first couple months they'll be pretty hardy.

Also check blue zoo aquatics, in my expeirence getting the smallest blue stripes is best. Usually bigger ones get more stressed.

I'm not sure where you heard that. There is no limit on Bluestripes. They are found all over. Reason many places don't bring them in is, as stated above, that they are very sensitive and have a bad track record for not surviving the first six weeks. Since they are in the clarkii complex they can be very aggressive.

??? I have never heard this from anyone. Do you have a source for your information?

Generally speaking, A. chrysopterus tends to be one of the larger and more pelagic of the clown species. They are common in the wild, but tend to be disease prone, stress-prone, and poor shippers. They are especially prone to brooklynella. If you can get a healthy individual or pair in, and they get acclimated to your setup, they can be as healthy and robust as other clowns.
