Are clowns okay without their mate?

I just recently lost the female of a mated pair of true perculas. She jumped. I'm completely devastated. They have been together for almost two years.
I'm just wondering, will the little guy be okay by himself? He seems to be looking for her and I'm really worried about him. I'm very nervous to add another one though. Will he adapt without her? or does he need a companion?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It will be fine. My misbar perc has never had a mate. She's quite happy in her rbta.

Sorry for your loss.

I have a single clown too. She actually has no host anymore either, and I must admit she seems fine, but is weirder than ever :) She sleeps at the surface of the water right beside the overflow and has been doing it for months.

He will be just fine. After a month or so he will start to become a she so keep that in mind if you get a replacement. He will go trough a growth spurt as he makes the sex change.
