Are gigs the only nem to have switching tentacles?

Yup, looks good - would be interesting to see what color it is under typical reef lighting (hint, hint)... ;)

Working on it. I have a Magnifica in the display and I want to make sure both the Magnifica and the gig are totally healthy before they go together. The mag just got out of treatment. It never deflates but the mouth still gets a little open so I'm not positive on it yet. I ordered a mars aqua light to put on the QT with the gig. My plan for now is to add some live rock once treatment is over and keep the gig in the QT tank for a while.

Ah, sounds good - keep us posted...

...and to be honest, I am just living vicariously through you since I passed up one just like this and have been regretting it ever since!

Still looking good. It shrunk down a bit and looks tucked into the dish but I'm assuming this is normal

turned the flow off for the video

Good movement. Looks very good. I wish I could zoom in on that. I had to get all close to the screen. HAHAHA (Getting old I guess)

How much, if any, expelled from it? How are water changes going?

The first day it let out a little waste but nothing since then. It actually has never looked bad. Even at the store when they were aclimating it getting ready to place it in their tank.

For waterchanges I've been doing 100% a day with cipro at 25mg per gallon.

Great. Glad to her it. Keep us updated with pictures and videos. The taptalk video format you uploaded does not allow to zoom or full screen.

Looking perfect. I think I finally got lucky with one of these. Still jealous of you guys on the west coast. I'm trying not to think about how much money I spent to get a healthy gig. This was my third try. Between shipping, tons of water changes, cipro, and the anemones themselves, this guy might have cost more than the system it's going in. Still worth it and I'm dumb so I'll probably keep looking for more.

Should I crank the flow up a little more?

I spend quite a bit of money too before i got a healthy Gigantea.
I would not change much if he is doing well. Once he is in your DT, then you can tune things up a little.

Finally got my better light in. It definitely bleached some during treatment but it still looks healthy and the tentacles are getting longer. I've been feeding it a tiny piece of shrimp every few days

Looking better. I tried to help you out with those videos. I dont think it likes photo bucket's mp4 links.

Try uploading to youtube. It is much easier to get them embedded and seen. I looked at the other videos while I was there too.

I see it decided to move. Might want to remove that plate and clean off the junk it spilled out.

Anything else come out of it lately?

It really does like that light.

Hold off on feeding it for a bit until it has got some health back to it. The food will add to the biomass in the water column, as it digests.

Does the video not play for you? On my phone I just click and it pops up full screen.

Right now it's foot is still partially attached to the dish so I don't want to mess with it. Hasn't been spitting anything out that I have seen. The stuff on the dish is just algae.

When i click on it, it opens in a new window and plays the video. You can move through them and look at the other ones too.

Is this thing still in the QT or moved to DT now?

I'm keeping it in qt for the next couple months. I am in the process of setting up a 60g cube so I'm going to wait until that is ready instead of putting it in my current display tank. I just added some live rock and some better lighting to make the QT more stable and I do 50% waterchanges every other day now instead of 100% daily.
