If you go with 10s, the EcoSmart drivers are wirless so they can put the 10s in master/slave mode. If you go with 40s, the 40w already has a wireless driver to run master/slave. The ES drivers have a couple of new flow programs.

To the OP; yes, two MP10's would work well on your aquarium.![]()
I have one MP40W on my 75 gallon. More rock in there than I would like and a lot of coral. The flow covers the entire tank. If it was me, I would spend the money on a single MP40W and then start saving for the second. It will cost you less in the long run, and with the new ES version coming out, you can get a MP40W for a pretty good deal if you dont need the new ES version.
2 mp10s are not good enough for a 90 gallon "SPS" dominated. You will end up adding more powerheads. For the same price you might as well get an mp40. I had 1 mp40 on a 40 breeder at full blast and I ended up adding 4 additional tunze 6025 to get good flow. Those 2 tiny mp10 pumps would look out of place in a 90 gallon tank let alone give enough flow.

I guess I am a little confused. 2 mp10s actually flow MORE than 1 mp40 so why would that not work. Plus if you have a ~1500gph from a couple returns plus the two mp10s you are over 3000gph thats 33x+ turnover. Thats not good enough? How much do you need?
