Are there worms that burrow through live rock?

Recently was breaking down a reef tank, and found this odd worm like critter. It appears to bore through the live rock to make it's tunnels and pathways. I did a google search but nothing I found seemed like a match at all.

Just wondering if anyone knows what this is?

interesting. didn't realize they can eat through rock, but it sounds like they can. Thank you!

You would have a hard time convincing me it made that hole and didn't just happen too find it.

I wanted to make some rubble so I hit a rock with a hammer. It was hollow and had bristle worms balled together the size of a golf ball inside. I don't think that made the hole though.

There certainly are things that bore holes in rock like urchins. There may be worms that do as well.
