Here is a macro video of them swimming in a drop of water, a drop of Revive is added. They die instantly. :uzi:

they look like planaria to me. You can try flatworm exit but I did not have much luck with it. My mystery wrasse made quick work of them.

I am sorry to tell you that from my experience of having AEFW, it looks very much like them to me, and I discovered the same way, one on the glass at night, then after further inspection I realized the infestation of them.
Good thing in QT and not in MT...
Should be easy to rid from QT, best of luck...

Don't think it is... AEWF are oval in shape... no spiky tail...
and you usually don't find them on the glass...
that being said there are many species FW....

here is an AEFW :

Thanks for the replies and reference photos. I'll try to get a better picture of them if I see more. I only have one small acro frag in the QT and have seen no bite marks.

aqua60 great pics to show what a person needs to look for. Best I have seen yet. Thanks for posting the pics.

best AEFW pics I have seen, now I finally know what to look for....

+1 for planaria. Nice reference pics aqua80.

my pleasure ! (well not really pleasant to have these bugs, but gotta do something positive with this !)

another pic showing bite marks and an adult AEFW on the skin of the acro on the bottom right... look closely !!

these suckers mimics zooxanthella on the acro's skin to the perfection !

Damn! Stealthy!
Are you still dealing with then now? What approach are you taking?

yes I still have some, but my tank is crashing for other reasons... QT is the only way not to import them...
So I will now have a QT !
FOr infected tanks, I would just use blasting and wrasse team to eat them...

I've never heard of AEFW cruising on the glass, so I'll vote no

Yes if you blow them off :) They are quite slow cruisers I found. So that is why a lot of people recommend to baste them from corals.

But I don't think it is a AEFW. Looks more like an isopod type.
