What bulb combination are you using?

Front to back:
Blue +
Actinic
LEDs
Blue +
Purple +

I had a couple coral + with the two blue + and didn't care for it at all. It was just too white. I'm contemplating going with two actinics and dropping the purple +, but only to see what it looks like. I really like the combo I have now.

For the LEDs, I'm running max around 65% and am running the royal blues at 255, blues at 180ish, reds at 35ish, and whites at 30ish

Has anyone heard/have news on if the software will every be compatible on a Mac? I can't think of a logical reason why they wouldn't address the software needs of a large population of buyers.

I have placed my order for a 8x54 + 3x75. Soon be joining to this great club.

I've also got a Mac (hate Windows OS), I wish we could connect it to the Powermodule.

I haven't heard anything. Mac is still a very small percentage of the market.

How do you plan to program the light? Using the controller box won't work so you'll need to find a Windows setup somewhere.

Need help with mounting brackets. I didn't receive any instructions. Can someone walk me through this? I want to get this bad boy up and running

The lights come with the hanging kit. You can see how the kit should look once fixed up. You just need to fix the kit either into your ceiling or use some kind of brackets. I bought strong bookshelf brackets as in the photo.

Question:
I am heavily thinking about purchasing a 24" fixture for my 30 gallon rimless SPS reef. I assume I should get the 8 bulb instead of the 4 bulb or will the 4 bulb be enough?

I have never used T5s before but I have used LEDs on several of my tanks.

I will also need help with a bulb color combination.

You only need the 8 bulb if you have like 36" front to back depth. Remember the 8tube with LED is probably more than or equivalent to a 10bulb normal Powermodule.

My tank is 22" front to back, and an 8 bulb is overkill...but I plan to upgrade to a large cube next year...so I didnt want to buy twice. Hence I bought an 8 bulb unit.

I got my light up. I made the mistake of putting the light up "backwards" and so my bulb combo is now B+P+LEDs A+B.

The other question is I didn't see a film on the acrylic shield? Could it still be on there or no? I also found it difficult to push the bulb cover on to the fixture. Not sure how I'm going to change out the bulbs.

Lastly I'm still having issues with programming the unit. It seems I have to push save before I save save to lamp or it won't work. Also it often shows an error has occurred when uploading to lamp. Also, I often will not have all the LEDs at the same color and don't understand why when the "dots" seem to be all the same? I can't see the videos tutorials in the thread they blank?


I love the light and how flexible it is. There are so many color combos. It's great.

Find my tutorial a few pages back and read it. Read it one more time and then perform the instructions exactly.

If you are getting an error there is a good chance you have the wrong program being used.

For example, if you only have 2 LED clusters but try the 3 LED setup, you will have issues.

Hi guys!

I've got a Mac and cannot connect to the Powermodule control unit. Any ideas on how could I install a small, cheap windows based system?

Maybe I could set a kind of mini-PC close to the control unit and share it with my Profilux as well. I wish I could run it like a server, with no need of a keyboard, mouse or screen, just with my Mac via wifi or something similar.

Well I have decided to take the plunge and purchase a 24" 4 bulb LED Powermodule from ATI for my 30 gallon SPS dominate rimless tank. From all the research I have come across, here is the bulb combination I wish to try:

Blue+
Purple+
LED
KZ Coral Light ll New Generation
Blue+

This is with only two bulbs on and LEDs at 50%. I love this light. I think I'm going to look into a cheap windows tablet to hang by the controller? That way I can make adjustments easy and it will be touch screen.

My fish are so much more colorful now. I love the red even though violets would be nice too. Now we wait and see how the corals respond. I can say that the colors do pop a lot more now and see the potential. The true test will be on my blue acro if it comes back to the deep blue it had when I bought it. Now it's just very light blue and brown. I'm assuming this acro needs high intensity light? I never can understand which blue acros need a lot light and those that don't ?

Guys, I have uploaded mine and Rodney's light profile. I emailed a few people the profiles over the past couple of weeks, so I thought I might as well upload here.

The attachment is a zip file and inside is two files named as "SAHIN" and "RODNEY".

Note that I run full intensity on my LED's and T5's, and I am able to do so because I previously had a custom modified LED+T5 Sunpower which had quite similar PAR output. So use the light profiles with caution and observe your corals carefully.

PS, I hope Rodney doesnt mind that I have shared his light profile.

Lubeck, your tank looks nice. I really like it. I am glad you didnt go for the 8 tube. It would have been crazy overkill on your tank.

Also, before you buy a Windows based tablet, make sure that you can run the ATI Desktop software on it and it has a USB connection. I have my doubts, but it might just be possible.
