Sahin,
How is this bulb combo working for you and your SPS? I recently switched my LED configuration to match yours and I'm much happier with it. My T5 Combo is 4 B+, 3 C+ and 1 P+. I feel like it's to bright with not enough pop. I'd like to mirror your T5 setup as well but want to make sure you are having good SPS success.
Thanks,
IMO having 2 ATI ABSpecials, is rather like having 3 ATI Coral+ in terms of brightness/whiteness...hope that kinda makes sense. The two ABS hit the green, yellow, orange/red portion of the spectrum pretty well.
In addition to having the 2ABS, I have another Coral+ which is considered a white bulb. So, having 2xABS and 1xCoral+ in an 8tube combo covers the spectrum adequately. Remember also that you have the WHITE LED's to ensure you are covering the spectral range adequately.
The blue/green portion of the spectrum is covered by the ABS and Coral+ tubes anyway, so i felt that 3 Blue+ is plenty; hence the section of the spectrum that I feel is lacking is the violet/actinic portion.
The addition of the two Actinics certainly pops a little extra. I see the extra flourescence in my sps as well as my scolymia.
Will the combo work? Too early to tell as I restarted my tank due to issues. But if you think of it this way: there are loads of tanks with 6 tube T5 units that run sps tanks with very nice sps colours. On our hybrid units we also have the option to use the LEDs.
So sacrificing two tubes to use actinics in an 8 tube hybrid unit is no problem at all IMO...and isn't really a sacrifice. Those Actinic tubes have closer to 100% PUR than any other tube.
Those Acitinc tubes are boosting the part of the spectrum that is a little lacking in the rest of the tubes and the ATI hybrids do not have Actinic LEDs, so I really believe they are useful.
I had very nice colours in my tank using this hybrid unit, so I am confident that with a few considerations and as long as you don't go crazy, most combos should work pretty well.
Hopefully in 3 months time I will be able to post some nice sps photos like I did previously.
