ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Hi, i saw beautiful tank and i want your suggestion because i dont have a par meter.

I have a 48x18x24 full SPS tank
All my SPS are 15 inch of the water surface
My ATI hybrib fixture is 7" of the water

I have 4 T5 on for 9h
Front Blue+, Coral+, Blue+, Coral +

Led peek is at 60% for 9h with this config
RB 100%, Blue 50%, W 35%, Red 10%

Thanks

What's the question?

Ok, i am not very good in english.

Because i don't have a par meter i want to know if my configuration is ok for an SPS tank or with your expérience do you have something to suggest me that i have to modify to have a better configuration.

For example :
- the height of my fixture is to low or to high

LED
- 60% for the peek for 9h is to much. to low or ok
- Because i only have 4 T5, do i use enough white in my led configuration

Everything looked good to me. Just watch your corals closely and see what they do. I love PAR meters but your corals are the best thing to tell you what is best.

I'm having major color loss issues with anything pink sps in my tank. They still grpw but they lose their color. I'm running 2 blue+ 1 coral+, and 1 purple+. LEDs I'm running at full blue 40% white and 10% red. I'm not getting any coloration in my pinks. Any suggestions?

buy some boron additive.. b-balance, borochrom bw, Fm colorl elements red..corals need that.

Looks like there is a new firmware update, how do we go about updating our units with the new firmware?

I contacted ATI only the new lights can be upgraded and you do it thru the software under lamp is upgrade firmware if it is greyed or does not let you click it your lights do not support it

ZON WHERE ARE YOU, Do I get the fuana Marin red and purple? Or the blue and red??? HAHA

@SAHIN & ZON
also I'm going to order some bulbs

Right now I'm running
Blue+
Purple+
Led
Coral+
Blue+

For better color in corals what bulb combo should I have?

Some people say 2xblue+, 2xcoral+
Some say 2xblue+,2xpurple+
I "think" ZON said 3xblue+,1purple or coral

Your combo seem fine...perhaps I would run 2xBlue+ and 2xCoral+.

Also run 1/4 of the BRS recommended GFO and 1/2 of BRS recommended GAC for your system and FEED your fish very well at least 2-3 times a day whilst keeping NO3@ 5ppm or less and PO4@ 0.05ppm or less.

Make sure you run the full spectrum/daylight T5's AT LEAST 7 hours as well.

Post back after 6 weeks if you havent seen any positive changes.

I'm glad you mentioned gfo.... I just posted a forum in the sps section called " how much gfo and carbon" can you take a look and answer if you don't mind? http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2456373

I'm going to switch out the purple to a coral plus and follow your instructions. ZON played out a nice led combo. Of red at 10 blue and royal blue 225 and white at 80. Is this ok to continue?

Yes all that additives are same ..kz and brightwell more selected on boron and fm more complete ( red purple) i suggest you 2 blue 2 coral and led only the blues with white for only eyes balance..

Keep t5 on full power at least 10 hours.. Less is too low

K got it

I have the 6500K GE tube, but never really used it.

I am running:
Front
ATI Blue+
ATI Actinic
ATI AquaBlueSpecial
ATI Coral+
---LED's---
ATI Blue+
ATI AquaBlueSpecial
ATI Actinic
ATI Blue+

LED's @ peak time = Royal Blue: 100%, Blue: 15%, White:60% Red: 5%

Sahin,
How is this bulb combo working for you and your SPS? I recently switched my LED configuration to match yours and I'm much happier with it. My T5 Combo is 4 B+, 3 C+ and 1 P+. I feel like it's to bright with not enough pop. I'd like to mirror your T5 setup as well but want to make sure you are having good SPS success.
Thanks,

Thanks,

IMO having 2 ATI ABSpecials, is rather like having 3 ATI Coral+ in terms of brightness/whiteness...hope that kinda makes sense. The two ABS hit the green, yellow, orange/red portion of the spectrum pretty well.

In addition to having the 2ABS, I have another Coral+ which is considered a white bulb. So, having 2xABS and 1xCoral+ in an 8tube combo covers the spectrum adequately. Remember also that you have the WHITE LED's to ensure you are covering the spectral range adequately.

The blue/green portion of the spectrum is covered by the ABS and Coral+ tubes anyway, so i felt that 3 Blue+ is plenty; hence the section of the spectrum that I feel is lacking is the violet/actinic portion.

The addition of the two Actinics certainly pops a little extra. I see the extra flourescence in my sps as well as my scolymia.

Will the combo work? Too early to tell as I restarted my tank due to issues. But if you think of it this way: there are loads of tanks with 6 tube T5 units that run sps tanks with very nice sps colours. On our hybrid units we also have the option to use the LEDs.

So sacrificing two tubes to use actinics in an 8 tube hybrid unit is no problem at all IMO...and isn't really a sacrifice. Those Actinic tubes have closer to 100% PUR than any other tube.

Those Acitinc tubes are boosting the part of the spectrum that is a little lacking in the rest of the tubes and the ATI hybrids do not have Actinic LEDs, so I really believe they are useful.

I had very nice colours in my tank using this hybrid unit, so I am confident that with a few considerations and as long as you don't go crazy, most combos should work pretty well.

Hopefully in 3 months time I will be able to post some nice sps photos like I did previously.

Do you have any idea, what benefit, if any there are if the firmware is upgraded?

Thanks in advance.

If the t5s are on full power for 8 ours what's the cycle of the leds

You can have them run around the same time, but obviously not at 100% intensity, and with variance in the different LED channels. So you may run whites only for 5 hours, blues for 9 hours etc.

Can anyone share they profiles in an 8bulb fixture for an sps tank??
Pm me if you can and i will pm you back my email.
Thanks in advance.

Sahin,
Thanks for the reply. Couple other questions for you, what percent do you run your leds at when you have your t5's on? If you wouldnt mind sending me your profile, Id like to compare it to mine.

Also, with your current bulb and led configuration, are you pleased with the astetics of the tank? With my configuration, my water looks "milky" which makes me miss my mh's. I'm thinking that the actinics may help to offset that look.
