ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

I have a 8 bulb 24", I run mine 7 hours, and 4 hours for the 2 T5 channels, and 10 hours of LED at 20%. I am still having trouble getting good color and growth. A lot of thinning or pasteling, some bleaching. Light is 10 inches above 50 gal cube. Could I be putting too much light on these guys still?

I have the same unit over a 47G tank. For sure the unit puts out a lot of light...however at the duration and intensity you are running, that is comparable to a good T5/MH combo.

I'd look at your water quality/ensure there is enough food for the corals.

Pastelling/bleaching can be due to too much light, but in a healthy system, its usually the corals right at the top that are affected.

However, tissue THINNING for me most definitely points to other problems. Have you checked for AEFW's?

Pastelling/bleaching/THINNING are classic signs of AEFW's. Doesnt mean that thats what is affecting your corals, but just saying...it'd be wise to baste a few corals outside the tank.

I have been watching for AEFW, bite marks, MEN, red bugs... like a hawk. I have had some effected corals rebound from bleaching to good color after moving them around. For a while I thought it may be too clean of a system so I turned the skimmer down, and fear heavy for a few weeks, some corals did great, some tanked. I just set up a 2 part doser to help stabilize alk a bit more, hopefully this will help.
Thanks though for the replies, it is hard to know how much light I am putting out, so I will leave lighting alone, and be sure water is super stable, and as always be on the bug hunt.

Length Over All

Length Over All

I know the cord on this unit comes out the side.
With a comfortable bend of the cord, what is the length overall on the 48" fixture?

Need to make sure it fits lengthwise in my canopy.

Thanks.

Not sure but it's definitely more than 8 feet.

I'll measure when I get home, but the cord only is about 2-3 inches.

As a side note, ATI recommends not putting them in canopies. I suppose with enough ventilation it would be fine, though.

I have room on the back left for cordage otherwise it's 48 1/4". Fits my 8x54 ATI but that cord comes out the top

Ignore that earlier response. Thought you were asking about cord length. Cord bends outside of unit with 3" comfortably. Unit measure 46 1/8". You need at least 2 1/2" for cord bend but 3 1/2" to be safe. Hence I would go with a minimum 50 1/2" canopy.

Hey guys need some help here. I recently acquired a 24" 8 bulb PM Hybrid and have had it running on my cube for a few weeks now. I have not tried to mess with any settings aside from changing the time on fixture its self. The guy i purchased it from on here also later sent me a new usb connector later as he had misplaced it and sent it to me when once he got a new one.

I'm just now getting around to down loading the software and plugging it into my computer. BUT when I open up ATI Light Studio, it does not recognize it being plugged in.

In the top right of the screen the USB circle will light up blue when plugged in but not the LAMP circle. I've tried restarting to fixture and program, plugging the usb in after and before powering it on and still no luck :/.

Any help would be awesome!

What does your replacement cable look like?

This is what its supposed to look like:

Either the cable is damaged or isnt for the unit? I'd try and get a cable from ATI USA.

Quick question: One LED cluster, change of color over time. In the program, if you shift color during the day, does the color change promptly or is it a smooth transition between two dots?

Erik, just installed a 8x80W + 4x75W.

Depending on how you setup its a smooth transition or sudden. If you are viewing in the software, obviously the transition isnt as smooth.

Can someone give me an idea of the weight of a 4 bulb 48" unit? I see where these units are described as "heavy" but I have not been able to find a weight listed on any website.

I'm curious how high people are running their LEDs at peak? I am slowly increasing my % and would like to know when I should consider stopping. My tank is mainly SPS. Thanks.
