I agree that it looks way better but the amount of light may not be adequate. That is my major concern. I am setting up a mixed reef. I have not seen a 6x24 PM so If i am wrong let me know. The cost for a 39 watt upgrad is nominal. I am currently running 2- 39 watts with a 660 icecap and 1 39 watt on a 430 IC and its bright but not SPS bright. You are always helpful, looking forward to getting and ATI from PA.

what isze powermodule would you recomend for a 60x24x18 heavy sps tank?

I would go with either a 6 bulb or 8 bulb 48" or 60" unit. I think the 60" 8 bulb would be most preferable, but in my opinion the 48" would look the nicest hanging above the tank.

Jeremy, I have a 30x30x18 Cube. Corals will be mostly softies, LPS and gradually adding a few SPS. I had been looking at the 24" 6 Bulb.

What Powermodule unit would you recommend?

It really depends on your aquascaping. If you are keeping everything towards the middle, away from the front and back, then a 6 bulb would be just fine. If you plan on aquascaping with more stuff towards the back, and out in the front, then I would go with an 8 bulb fixture.

I just got mine yesterday and got it hooked up today. Nice fixture

First impression of the fixture...
The fixture is built pretty well and comes with all the hanging equipment. The air flow is pretty cool. As the fans suck the air in blow it out over the ends of the bulbs and shoot it down over the length of the bulbs and out the side. Pretty clever really. Fixture is silent and seems to be working well.

Do the fans turn on when 1 or both sets of lights come on or is it an independent line? Wondering if you have to have a seperate timer for fans.

Mojo what are the bulbs?

its a independent line for the fans. just plug in a t so it turns on with the dusk dawn lights.

Very nice, sorta 15k look, just ordered a 24" sunpower but its on back order. What did you set fan powere at? How warm is fixture?

right now its at like 7v i think I need to make room on my RKE so I can put it o a timer and I will probably crank it up more. The fixture is pretty cool. Not hot at all. about like luke warm water at most. I ll have to take a screen shot ofmy graphing the tank temp. Going from the halide to the T5 fixture. I changed the set point from 78 to 78.5 but it does not change the tank temp at all now.
