ATI Sirius X Lights

ReefVet. Thanks for your response, l've done all of the above, Samuel at ATI North America assures me the quick start up guide does not exist, if it did he'd know about it as he'd have been involved with it. Premium Aquatics haven't received a unit yet.

I've resigned myself on waiting for the light to arrive from Germany, l'll then suck it and see.

I now have a Sirius X4 sitting over my 100 x 90 x 50cm tank, beautiful and slik it is too. I have no instructions for the light, none came with it, l bought it online from Germany, all l have done to it is set the clock. Thanks to Samuel at AtiNorthAmerica l learnt about how to get the factory setting up and running by simply setting the clock.

My light has four clusters, each had a red led in it, the number one cluster red led does not come on at all......:-(. Can someone from ATI in Germany please help me out here? If l had some instructions l could learn about firing it up with the pc and find out if my number 1 cluster red led is shot.....

Hi Mike,
How do you like new light? How about coverage? color?

thanks,

I'm happy with the light, it provides the spread l need on my 90cm wide tank. Thanks to Samuel at ATI USA l've managed to get it up and running in factory settings, factory settings seem good, corals are responding to the new light, not that they weren't under the old unit, this light accomadates my tank's width better. The lamp has more to offer than factory settings, l can't get access to that....

As l've said earlier in this thread, l bought the light from Germany, l'm English and l live in Norway. The light came with no instructions whatsoever, how can that be? I asked for English instructions before purchase, l was told my wish would be accommodated.... If you buy a sophisticated piece of equipment you aren't born with the natural talent to use it, you need instructions for that. The only help l've had to get the light up and running came from Samuel, requests for help to the manufacturer via pm's on this message board and with direct contact with Germany have been disappointing to say the least. Since day one l've been told l'd get an English translation of the German instructions, still waiting...... If ATI want to sell their goods to the world they need to let on to the world how to operate them. I've got an all singing and dancing lamp hanging over my tank, l'd love to know how to use it to it's full potential......

Thank you for a very quick response. That sucks if there is no English instructions included.

My tank is 40"x25"x25" and all SPS. I was about to order 2 Radion G3 pro and came cross this thread. I think the ATI Sirius X4 LED Fixture would work perfectly on my tank.

Thanks,
Thanh

From what I see on atinorthamerica.com , software is the same as for LED/T5 hybrid powermodule. Should be the same way to control it, except no T'5 . Check out the powermodule led thread here on RC,http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2274338 there is a great video posted on how to control this light. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the link Mark

I actually already have the link, but there's more to it than loading it up from a pc. The light has an inbuilt manual controller and it can be run on factory settings, and maybe other settings too, who knows? My plan was to get used to the light with the manual controller and then fire it up from the pc. The whole point of not a scrap of instructions with such a unit is just beyond me.....

Mike

If its the same or similar firmware as the hybrid, you are best off using your computer to play with the settings. Even ati suggested not trying to use the built in keys/firmware.

I've had this light since June here in Michigan. I tried to use the manual controls at first and was frustrated by the complete lack of documentation.

Connecting with the software on a laptop and hooking up the light is significantly better than using the manual controls and I would never use them again. You can update the firmware as well while you're connected.

With that said, I haven't made major changes to the lighting configuration since the factory setting come with a gradual day/night cycle that I'm ok with. Once you set the clock you don't have to do much else if you don't want to.

What is you're configuration of the x8 (how many % is you're white blue etc.. ? )

I am using Sirius X8 for about 4 months
the power of this light is incredible and the colors amazing.

Pricey and no additional gain from replacing an ATI SunPower 6x54 enhanced with 2 Radions XM Pros.

8 Clusters (580 LED watts) over a 60"x28" tank seems like way too much light as well. Is the recommended distance from the water surface a foot or more? Anything less is pretty much guaranteed to scorch anything on a high rock shelf.

Wouldn't know, they don't come with instructions in English, l rephrase, they don't come with instructions in any any shape or form whatsoever! I am totally ****ed off with ATI, I've owned the light for 2mths and have pestered ATI for English instructions since day 1, they've been promised, that promise has never been honoured. How can you sell an advanced piece of equipment like this with no instructions! You pays your money, you cannot operate the light to it's full potential, now that sucks!

I have a 30x24x18 & I was thinking about the x4 just because I'd like a 24" fixture. It makes hanging a lot easier than a short fixture.

Can you help me? I have written mail after mail to ATI in Germany for English instructions for my light, if you look back in this thread l received my light at the begining of Sept, it is now December, l still have no instructions, that is appaling customer service.

I have an expensive and sophisticated light that l cannot use, l was promised English instructions 1 week aftter purchase, some promise.....

I do not have a pc or laptop, l have an ipad, l need to know how to use the manual controller to set up the light, can you help?

Mike
