ATI Sirius X Lights

Oliver.P

Can you help me? I have written mail after mail to ATI in Germany for English instructions for my light, if you look back in this thread l received my light at the begining of Sept, it is now December, l still have no instructions, that is appaling customer service.

I have an expensive and sophisticated light that l cannot use, l was promised English instructions 1 week aftter purchase, some promise.....

I do not have a pc or laptop, l have an ipad, l need to know how to use the manual controller to set up the light, can you help?

Mike

I hate to sound rude with this post because that's not my way or intention at all but here goes:

For a couple hundred bucks you can get a cheap PC to program the lights or better yet, find a friend with a laptop to come over.

The manual controller was a major pain in the @$$ to use on the LED Powermodule. No way I'd EVER want to fully program a light with that thing. It was actually recommended to never use the manual controller as the main way to program the light.

On that note: why not spend a couple hours trying to figure it all out? Instructions rarely tell you what you really need. Trial and error is your best bet.

Just my thoughts on it all

Tried yesterday with a laptop, wouldn't have it, couldn't get the lamp to save my settings in all four clusters. I need instructions. In my world you don't spend mega bucks on a sophisticated product and then just try and figure it out.

But l do hear where you're coming from.

Guess l'll have to write to ATI again!

Did you find the YouTube video that shows how to use the software for the LED Powermodule?

I'm sure the software for this fixture is similar enough. May be a good way to go for now

I used that and the latest software, the light won't have it, hopefully ATI will soon be to my rescue.......

I made a video last year on how to program the ATI LED Powermodule. Programming these lights is easy once you get hang of the software.

But like you, when I first got the light I found it difficult to work out how the program the light and couldnt find any help online either. Frustrated, I looked in the ATI Powermodile Owners thread and together with various different info, I managed to program the lights. I then produced a video with some detail on how to create a light profile.

It would be good if ATI shipped these products with better documentation. :uhoh3:

Will post a link when I get home.

Sahin, thanks for your reply. I've used a youtube video, the one that's on fastlightdirect's webpage on Ultimatereef, l'm guessing that's yours.

The lamp just isn't retaining the settings after clicking " save to lamp ".

ATI's support on this has been pitifull, in Aug/Sep when l ordered from Aquapro2000 l insisted on English instructions, l was told by them l'd get them, didn't happen, l was told by ATI they'd be ready by the end of the week, that was over 3mths ago...... For now it can sit where it is, l go away tomorrow and then offshore, maybe the instructions will come in my Christmas Stocking:lolspin:

Wow, I almost get it during the Thanksgiving Week. With this frustration, I guessed I could hold on to it until everything is sorted out. I will revisited it later. Thanks for sharing.

It's been awhile since I set up my light, but I'm confused as to why you can't use it at all. Once you set the clock on the front of the unit, it's scheduled to run the default program that I described earlier in the thread. I haven't changed that at all since I got it.

The only thing you're missing by not connecting it to your laptop - you should have installed the software first - is the customization/tweaking of the output levels/colors, and the firmware updates.

But I certainly wouldn't set it aside just for that unless you're setting up some special scenario.

I may do another firmware update this weekend. If I do, I'll try to type something up about establishing that connection to the light so you can try to play with the software from there. I won't get into details on customization since I don't have any reason to really dig into that yet.

I'm interested in Sirius X1 for my 40cm cube that's SPS dominated. Should I be considering X2 or X1 would be enough for my setup?

I really wanted to give this light a serious look, but with such a lack of ATI presence here in N. America recently - I had to pass on this investment.

YESSSSSSSS. I now have instructions in English and l've programed my Sirius X 4 led, l'm very, very happy. For big squashed cubes of 100 x 90 x 50cm like mine it's the perfect light.

Good outcome at the end. :)

Any chance of a video?

Bumping this thread because I'm thinking about switching from the Ati led/T5s to just Led fixture.

I'm planning a pure SPS only tank. The tank measures 24"x24"x21". That's 21" deep. I am debating between the hybrid Power Module and the Sirius x2.

Why are you contemplating a switch?

I agree. Im deciding between the 2 and from the info I've gathered, the Hybrid is the light that people absolutely love. When I here reviews from owners of the Hybrid. its words like "Awesome", Phenomenal, "Amazing" and "Impressive". When I hear reviews from owners of the LED its words like, "great" and "satisfied",

Plan an simple the Hybrid is the big bad boy on the block. Its just a matter of do you/I want to spend a couple hundred bucks on bulbs every 6 months.

Has anyone visited the ATI North America website. You can usually get ahold of someone there. They can help answer your questions rather than expecting Germany to stumble across questions in this thread.

I am tempted to get a pair of Sirius x2 for one of my shops 4.5ft coral trays...... any more feedback from longer term users? What are the sps growing like?
