They seem to love it.
Someone just posted a pair of false percs on one of the Canadian sites. They have spawned once but ate the eggs. So I might be getting another pair.

I am no where near this point yet but one of the local stores said they could only give me store credit if I was not a registered business, which is not such a bad thing. However If I were to get into larger quantities of fish, i'm not sure I could spend hundreds of dollars at said store!
Has anyone else run into this problem. Obviously stores need receipts to write off the purchase of inventory. Can I write them a receipt as an individual. I would obviously have to claim this with Revenue Canada. I am sure the laws in the US are different from Canada.
Does anyone have any experience with owning a small business. Obviously I would have to do a business plan to see if the area could actually support it as a business. Lots of paper work. What would the advantages and disadvantages be of doing so. I was also interested in the future of possibly setting up a frag tank and possibly selling frags. It may be worth something to look into.

In the US it is fairly easy to start your own small business, as long as you don't need funding... You can register your entity as a sole proprietorship for free or have a lawyer draw up documents for a Limited Liability Corp. (LLC). A LLC will cost around $500 to file, but offers some tax advantages and legal protection. When I was running my reef business I ran as a sole prop. and just wrote out reciepts to area businesses. A business plan will help you identify weaknesses in your idea, but if you are growing fish and corals anyway a market analysis to see if your area will support it is pointless. Now a market analysis to identify possible sources of revenue is a whole other game and would be a great time investment. Do not forget to contact wholesalers. Even if they are a few hours away from you a day trip with a couple thousand fish can be worth it.

Hum ... Interesting that they wouldn't pay you cash. I would ask around at other LFS, I know it not SoCal were LFS are like liquor stores (one on every block LOL). What are the other stores telling you ?
I had a small business years ago. Here in the states all you need is a business license (small fee). Only need a business plan if you needed a loan from the bank. But there's business plan software for that now. I will call my friend who owns a LFS and ask some questions !

Picked up my new pair of clowns tonight.
The previous owner said they had actually spawned a couple of times and the last time was a couple of weeks ago. Got them for $25.00. I told him when he wanted clowns for his new tank I would give him some for free.
Here they are acclimating to the tank.
Hopefully they will continue with their mating.

They are currently in my refugium/sump on my new 120. I placed a tile in there and they took to it for cover right away.
I plan on dividing my 65 into two compartments with blue acrylic. and putting my pair of maroon's on one side and the new pair on the other. My old 30 will be a sump for it and possibly for my breeding setup I am hoping to complete soon.

I still have a whole ton of them. Not sure how many more hatched last night. but there were several white eggs on the tile this morning. I have removed it from the tank. My rotifers appear to be doing great which makes things a lot easier.
I also noticed something else. For the past couple of weeks I was running very low on brine shrimp eggs so I was rationing their feedings. I was trying to get the older ones to eat various types of frozen and pellet food, many ate it and are doing well but other have fallen really behind. The batch that I was feeding the bbs to are almost two weeks younger but their size is almost the same.
I have also had to start feeding bbs to the older bunch (2 months) as some were not growing at all. I am assuming the food particles were to big for them.
I ordered a very large container of brine eggs and have really increased the feeding of bbs to almost all my fish. It seems to really be helping with their colour and growth.

Vaporize sells it at his online store. As well its available from Reed I think. I got the starter kit but my fry are old enough I'm only using B2 size. Here's some pics of what comes in the starter kit (note I've used the B2 for almost 2 weeks I think.) Also I took some pictures of the feeding frenzy just because I like baby pics. Don't look at my dirty tanks though. I haven't done my weekly scrub down yet. Usually you get about 100 heads out of the water but I think I was freaking them out with the camera.
