Just read all 23 pages and all I can say is WOW! I have learned alot in the reading and am inspired to attempt this when / if my Clowns start to breed.

Glad my thread could teach you something. Wish I had learned something through out this process.

Are pods to big to feed them after Day 5?

For instance, have a tank setup with something like Chaeto to help growout pods and reduce some of the Nitrates? I know you want them eating frozen, but maybe to add to the variety of the diet.

Sorry can't help you with the pods.

Jon,

It will depend on the size of the pods and just what kind of pods you have. Most copepods should be fine, but many amphipods will be large at that stage.

Day 9 yesterday for my most recent batch. I have been feeding Otohime A since day 4 can't really tell if they are eating any of it.

They were fed BBS last night and this morning and they attacked them like warriors.

I have been constantly splitting my two small rotifers cultures and putting all into my new 10 gallon culture. I put a sponge filter in the tank in hope that it will be more stable than the last time I used the 10 gallon tank for rotifers.

The previous batch, the ones that got nothing but bbs from day 2, are doing well, some are growing into their bars but many remain badly mis-barred. One of the fish has broken head band no midbar and the start of the tail bar. It looks pretty neat!

My BTA that my spawning clowns host in spawned last night. First time I have witnessed it do this. Since I moved it into my new 120 it turned from brown to a very nice green colour. I have 2 other bta in the tank. One was very bleached but has recovered nicely and is a light brown colour. The second is also a light brown colour. Does anybody know anything about BTA spawning. Would the other BTA's also had to have spawned for anything to come of it or is it possible to get little bta popping up all over the place.

Thanks

I don't know either on that one; the only way i have ended up with baby bta's is when the anemone splits. I had one for a while that just kept splitting.

Had 6 hours to kill between the wedding and the reception, so I moved the eggs just now. Cleaned out a 5 gallon and transferred 41 fish. These were the fish that got nothing but BBS. My rotifers are really good so I'm hoping this can be a really good batch. My 10 gallon rotifer tank w/sponge filter in it really seems to be taking. :D I would say the 5 gallon tank is almost as dense as an actual rotifer culture. Now the question is will I have enough phyto. NO!!! I may have to go buy 2 bags of phyto @ $15.00 each it might be worth it. So the fish I just transferred are now in a tank from three seperate hatchs inclusive. I have no more room until I setup my system. Not sure when that will happen as we are expecting our second child next weekend.

I dont' know if I mentioned it but the other fish seemed to have recovered very well with the FURAN-2. I'm going to go buy some more for an emergency.

So frustrating. My last three hatchs have all been terrible. Last night maybe a 10% hatch. The others were all white. I have not changed the way I am hatching the eggs. They were all moving nicely in the current without being thrown around.

My water temp felt very warm this morning. I just took a reading and it was 86.3. I must have bumped it up a bit when moving the heater. That would probably do it. Son of a B*#*@*. If I had of been home last night I probably would have caught it.

Another live and learn I guess.

So this batch is going to be very well fed again.

Oh ya that would likely do it. It sucks learning like that doesn't it? Man. This is one frustrating hobby at times. I'm glad your others have recovered. Good work.

I've got about 50 ready.

about 400 more about 1 month away from being ready! After that I'm pretty thin. I had three really good batchs this summer, but since then not to much!

I don't really now as I have been mixing and moving batchs around. I would say at least 5 months old.

I know I have some 3 months old just as big just not the nice colour on the fins yet!

I wonder if Orange ones are faster growing then black ones... Mine seem to be about 5-6 months before they are ready.
