Coming back to the hobby has been different than the first go around.
I didn't know squat and everything was a marvel, the first time.
I still remember gazing into my first tank, a 5gal pico, soon after it was set up and grabbing a camera to see what the bug was running around-- a pod....
Every day was a little exciting because I didn't know how much I didn't know...

This time I had different expectations, and I've worried over lighting, skimmer, parameters. I realized something tonight:
How much fun it is to feed fish and corals at lights out and watch everybody get all fuzzy and happy.

So I picked up the camera again....
The shots lappear horribly saturated in photoshop. In reality it is the effect of blue led's at night.

The reason for this expose-- I had some birthday $$ and blew some of at Paul's today:

It's after lights out and debris is food still in the water colums.

Daytime and night feeding picks of scoly I bought from him a while back. In the second shot he's so swollen from eating like a pig!!!

A couple other things I really like.
Remember colors are way off from night lighting:

A shot of the right third of my tank where this fixture and most of these corals are currently located. The large blob on the far left is a tiger cory I didn't see when taking the pic:

I sincerely hope I never lose the feeling of being a little kid when I'm around saltwater and corals

man it's just hot

man it's just hot

Several hours ago my wife felt warm. She hasn't been feeling well, so I didn't think much about it...... bad move. AC was out !!! Has now been corrected and a stand alone ac unit helped out by isolating the fish room and cranking this up. Tank temp swung from 78 to 81 and has dropped a little as both ac units are at work. This thing is a life saver:

Too hot to do much, but take pics.
Here is the yuma I picked up from Paul with lights on.
This thing is beautiful:

I loved the higher end zoas and chalices he had.
But some of the bright yellow fungia are wonderful.

Well over a month ago I ask Chris (Cjilge) for a frag of Mohawks he had listed. If he wasn't such a nice guy they would have gone to someone else..... I never picked them up. However, in the area, he dropped by friday and brought a couple things for the donor program and the mohawks. Thanks.

He also had these tiny zoas:

And the Mohawks,
They are in a bit of a dark spot till they acclimate,
and picture reflects that, making them look darker:

There were too pieces that looked especially odd under the night leds,
Both look much nicer with lights on.

Blastomussa merletti colony:

A special piece, to me,
Dk blue/purple body, green rim, pink eyes.
It's still showing feeders from last nights feeding.

those 'mohawks' are awesome! nicely done with the pics. keep em coming! :)

they are really nice. Looking forward to them taking over a rock.
I can't stop sittin in front of the tank and staring at that crazy Yuma, sitting next to the mohawks for convenience viewing. It is so brightly colored.

Nice Pics. I have one of those a/c units. It's helped a lot with this crazy heat.

Yeah, saves my but every time I have ac problems or when we lose power. It's easy on the generator.
