Back after 2 1/2 Year Hiatus - New 225 on the way

Fantastic tank and basement set-up. It looks like you've got a ton of room down there.

The bottom of your tank looks very realistic. Are those slate-like pieces of reef rock?

Wow! From what I can see in this pic:

My living room is layed out a lot like yours. And you're a fly fisherman too. Wierd. :D I was also just telling my wife that I want to upgrade to a 72" x 30" x 24" low iron glass tank if/when I outgrow this 120.

Don't tell me you're a Sox and Pats fan too?

This makes me very excited for my 238g arriving :) slightly different dimensions (60x36x26) but I love the depth, and how you have kept your aquascape away from the glass on all sides so you can get the clean black back. I think I'm going to have to follow your lead. Oh yea, I would agree a TOTM will be coming, maybe 6 months or so more of growth and it will be prime time :)

Many thanks tbone28, Lunch, doog, cbui2, mcliffy2, and Julio

Yeah...I have all the equipment in the unfinished basement so I have a lot of room. As for the rock, it is 7 big pieces of Tonga (200lbs). The guy from my LFS picked them out for me and he did a fantastic job. I was looking for pieces that could stand by themselves and give me that space between the back wall.

Mets and Giants :D

My fault, I meant the little pieces of rock on the sand.

Are you a salty fly rodder by any chance?

Here's my living room:

I'm going to mount the TV and three low-profile speakers above the mantle and put the tank where the TV is now. Anyway, I thought the layout looked a lot like yours.

Paul

P.S. The Mets? OK. But awe man, the Giants? You da Devil. ;)

Yep.....my calcium was too high early on so it probably precipitated out and created hardened pieces of sand.

As for fly fishing, I do both fresh and salt but I have to say there is nothing like landing a False Albacore on a fly....what a freight train.

It does look like we have the same room setup. Mounting the TV over the fire place is a great idea.....I wish I had thought of that.

My condolences to you for the Pats

No issues at all. I run a ceiling fan 24/7 all year to keep things ventilated but the room is not showing any ill effects from the tank.

They look like thin pieces of limestone that I saw on this one flat in Andros.

I used to fish FW, but gave it up for fishing salt any chance I got. And I agree, FA, pound for pound beat just about any small sport fish in the fight dept. I've landed them to 12+ lbs. on Martha's Vineyard with 8 and 9 weights. One crappy weather day, my buddy and I landed 15+ 8-12 lb. albies each in one day. They're a blast. Next I'd like to land a sbft on the fly. Hopefully this season, but I say that every season.

My wife suggested moutning the TV there before, but it seemed like a PITA. I should've listened.

Accepted. Wait til next season though. :smokin: Oh. Did you hear? We won the 2007 World Series. Your Mets look half decent this year. :p

Thanks steve & nicole.

Paul-

No regrets with the black silicone. I really like the look and AO told me it was stronger than clear silicone.
