Back after 2 1/2 Year Hiatus - New 225 on the way

I like the black silicone. I think it looks cleaner. Also, over time, as the clear silicone discolors, you'll be glad you went with the black.

Hey ReefBum !

Great tank :) One of my favorites here.

Can you share with me your light schedule please ? :)

Thanks

+1, This is one of my favorite tanks :)
+1

he seems to have the" touch" with SPS, instead of a green thumb his is rainbow colors.

I've absolutely loved watching your tank "take shape". It is slowly becoming an ellite idol tank. Give it about 2 years and you won't be able to fit your hand down the side to clean the glass!

:D

You make it look so easy!

This tank is completely awesome. Its so open for the fish, yet so packed full of colorful SPS. Everytime I waver on my tank set up, and want to go softy/LPS because its "cheaper" a tank this gorgeous brings me back to wanting to break the bank so I can keep SPS.

I agree with cliffy, though. Once those SPS grow in a little more, its only a matter of time before its TOTM. You've taken the modern clean and open looked and integrated it perfectly with a nice SPS packed reef. If my tank looked 1/2 that nice I wouldnt mind not being able to watch the plasma while the lady's girly shows are on lol.

Great job.

(BTW: Any larger high res shots? This can unseed my E30 M3 as my wallpaper)

I don't know where he is. I actually don't know him really. He's a good guy though. We were talking about fishing this summer when he visits the Vineyard.

Thanks for the kind words everybody. I just got back from vacation this past week and I was also away the prior two weekends so I'm playing catch up on everything around the house, including the tank. It just hit its 1 year anniversary so I was planning on posting some new shots.

Everything looks great despite some AEFW. Those buggers took out around 5 small to medium size colonies. I noticed them about a month and a half ago and I guess they were pretty entrenched on those corals for a while. Since then I have been turkey basting the rest of the corals once a week and I've only seen a few AEFW. My corals have encrusted significantly on the rocks so there is no way I'm going to try and get everything out for dips. Fighting them with the turkey baster seems to be working so I'm not going to panic.

Thanks for the update. Can't wait for the new pics! do you know where the AEFW came from?
No idea. I dip everything in TMPC but perhaps they hatched from some eggs not killed in the dip. Anyway, here is the latest FTS.

And a high res shot of that pic is at this link:

Beautiful! Your tank has matured very nicely! I like that It's not "stuffed" with SPS!

How many SPS colonies do you have?

Wow Keith, the tanks looks great! How do you do it? I thouht to get an SPS tank to look this good you needed a minimum of four giant Tunzes at about 15000 gph (T... ;))

Wet a line yet?

Terry, someday soon your tank will look this nice.

LOL, Paul. I was thinking the same thing! I should sell my other 2 Tunzes :D.

I really hope my tank looks this nice one day. As you can tell from my 2-island aquascape, this tank was one of my inspirations :)

Woop, cat's out the bag. ;)

Yeah, I've perused his tank for ideas too. My stand may end up looking pretty identical too since my wife loved it so much and wants to copy it. Imitation is supposed to be one of the most sincerest forms of flattery, so I hope he doesn't mind. IMO, even our living rooms look alike. At least I think so. Why not the stands? ;)

Come to think of it K, I don't remember whether you never said one way or the other. :D I don't wanna "bite" your design too badly. Maybe I'll throw some grafitti over it to mix it up.
