bad day on the reef

oh man just read this this morning . this really sucks couldn't of happened to a nicer person. and being a product you have been using that tells me it was not mis-dosed . you have most likely already thought of this but if any of your sps have small parts still alive you may want to clip them and try to save them . best of luck . keep us posted when you have a free moment
 
The only common thing between these tanks is that product? That is very odd to have such a fast and devastating effects.. How long have you been dosing it and how frequently? I'm very sorry this is happening to you. I know how you feel because I lost so much during the October snowmageddon... I am willing to offer up some free frags if you want
 
OMG Ryan... don't give up, sad to see this happen to anyone never mind someone so generous with such nice tanks. I can frag what you've fragged me once they've grown a little more and I'm sure anyone else would be willing to do the same
 
my friends and i often talk about your tank as the nicest one we have ever seen. this is depressing. good luck buddy.

Exactly! It takes years to get these corals to the size of what you have and it's just devastating to have this happen. You take EVERY precaution and then something like this happens. We are all behind you and whatever you need I'm sure everyone will step up. Please don't hesitate to ask for help. That's what this community is for.
 
i have 100gal of salt water in my waterchange drum if you need it. dont know how to transport it though.... but its here if you need it.
 
Ryan don't quit man. Your the reason I went all in you can't get out now. I will frag everything you gave me back for free. If you need me to nurse anything back to health let me know and I would go pick it up until you get stable again. I know it sucks but you'll bounce back look at pc after the storm better than ever you got this husbandry skills are top notch this was just a fluke hang in there bro. Text me if you need anything
 
Yeah this really sucks I would think it would be easier to deal with if it was your fault but it wasn't. Stop over in a week or two and you can cut a piece off of everything I have. We have a lot of the same coral. And you've given me enough freebies it'd be nice to give them back.
 
Thanks for the offers , today after big water changes and more to follow , the water has cleared up and most sps , the nice ones of course have lost color but not hope , monti caps are almost white . most lps are fine , clams arent happy . fungia is bleached . hawkins , green slimer , blue tip stag , purple monster all have barely any color . cube is recovering besides the cap and pulsating xenia , and leathers look in bad shape , shrooms are doing ok , wellso is ok . I caught it early thank god . the company wants me to fill out the forms and pictures of before and after , they were expecting calls i guess . no sympathy ...just fill out the forms and we will help you . thats better than nothing . Its not getting worse , even though the tanks have no color . now we are in recovery mode .
 
Glad to hear that you got,things stabilized Ryan. If you end up losing any SPS, let me know and I'll do my best to give you some replacement frags.
 
From reading a few of the threads on this topic it appears that people are getting paid compensation for their losses - which is obviously a good thing for Kent's reputation and the hobbyist.
