Basic DIY Electronic Prototyping Question

DIY Lite
I managed to get my first attempt at an LED fixture to successfully turn on (yay!) but I'm left with a tangle of wires, drivers, twist caps, etc. given that I'm using a 19.5v 3.43a power supply, I don't think a breadboard is feasible. What does everyone do to manage this while still tweaking/building their projects out?

Because of this mess I have to constantly break it into pieces between work sessions, and I'm fairly nervous about all these attractive wires and my feline friends running around.

I'm considering mounting all the components onto a standard white cutting board about 1/2 inch thick, and using that while I finish testing and building in my controller. But before I **** off the girlfriend, I wanted to see if there's a better way.

Thanks,
Chris

A better way to what?..
screw all the components to a scrap piece of wood or whatever..
use cable ties,etc...
not sure exactly what you are asking though

A better way to manage the mess. I thought about using scrap wood, but I read that mounting to wood isn't the best method for electronics.

But I just found nylon spacers at the hardware store that might actually make using wood a better option.

wood is not conductive.. (until soaking wet anyways)
nothing wrong with using it temporarily. no washers needed
and its cheap and the girlfriend won't make you sleep on the couch for using some scrap of it vs stealing her cutting board..
Lesson #1 Never mess with a womans kitchen tools man.. :lmao:
