Bayer dosages for smooth skin acro dipping

Hello Everyone,

I have some AEFW on my acro, so I am looking for a way to get rid of them.
How many ml of Bayer per cup of tank water do you use for dipping smooth skin acro such as Granolosa, ORA Pearlberry, and Red Dragon? How long do you guys leave the smooth skin acro in the solution?

Thanks

I've had no problem doing the following:

0.5ml Bayer to 2 cups tank water for 15 minutes

I've dipped all of the ones you've mentioned, in addition to many other deepwater/smooth skinned ones with no issues.

Why dose so high? 0.5 ml per 2 cups kills AEFW, red bugs, gray bugs, black bugs, spiders of all sorts, you name it. I haven't had anything live through that dosage yet.

I do 4ml to 2 cups and never had any issue with any coral yet, but I only have 2 smooth skin acros. I used that on both. The only time I had an issue was with coral rx I tried at the same time and the mix is no good, instant death of a hammer frag. Never saw anything like it.

My friend and i did a gallon of tank water with bayers. 10 ml per cup. Didn't kill the red bugs....

I do a higher dose because when I was researching bayer dips a lot of people reported red bugs living through lower dosage dips. I've done the higher dose with no issues so I don't see a reason to risk it.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
Well so many different opinions on this subject.
I guess I will just go with 10ml/Cup for 10 minutes?
The first test subject will be the Pearlberry this evening, will report back the results tomorrow.

i read a lot before first trying it and it was hard to get a concensus. you can do something like 5ml per cup and then inspect afterwards if you want to be on the safe side.

If you are dipping for AEFW, they will fall off the coral instantly with 5ml per cup. I usually set a small pump in the dip cup and let it sit for 7-8 minutes for AEFW. But if you plan to dip for RB's, you need a higher dosage(10ml per cup) for at least 10 minutes, and you have to dip again every 6-7 days for about 4 weeks.

That has not been my experience. Red bugs have fallen off for me with 0.5ml per 2 cups (and so do AEFW). I treat for 15 minutes though. If I ever come across some resistant ones, I'll bump up the dosage.

Red bugs are live bearers, so there should be no need to dip repeatedly unless not all were knocked off during the first go. AEFW lay eggs, so yes, they would need repeated treatments.

Well I dipped the Pearlberry two days ago. I used 10ml of Bayer for 10 minutes and found 3 tiny baby aefw. The last time I closed the bottle, I might not have closed it tight enough. So don't know if that would reduce the potency of the med or not. Anyway the good news is that Pearlberry is still alive after 2 days, some polys came out. Last night I dipped another no name smooth skin, again 10ml for 10 minutes and its still alive this morning.

Which Bayer product is under discussion? There are several and they are not the same.
