Be forewarned!

Grant, we need updated pics. :) Its been like 7-8 months since the makeover, the tank should be looking sweet by now.

@Ken: Please make sure this tank is nominated for TOTM towards the end of the year...I think growth by then should be suitable for a TOTM.

This tank would have made TOTM before the makeover...:beer:
 
It truly does...and even with the revamp, it wont take long before colours and growth take off and it would easily make TOTM.

Seriously, I would LOVE to read a proper build thread on his tank. PLEASE PLEASE get him to start a thread posting photos of the tank, sump, some discussion on his methodology, some equipment and parameter stats etc...

I am sure stickhead like myself would LOVE to read about stuff like that. :D
 
Yeah, its rare to see tanks like that. Tom's old tank along time ago before his bulb exploded on the 240 was ridiculous. I have never seen a clam a foot big with its shell covered with zoas/palys and sps 24" tall etc... Grant and Tom's tank for sure would give any TOTM a run. Just kind of scared to hear about Grants tank based on how busy he is. I don't think he has posted since the holiday swap? Hope we can hear goods news to say the least :) Ken, hit him up so he can tell us how's everything. Or have you seen the tank lately?

I talk to him every once and awhile. He has nothing to give the club, he sold us his chalices and gave everyone great deals. He's doing other recreational stuff like creating a sound proof music room, playing tennis and wine tasting. I give it within a year and he will bounce back.
 
It is definitely tiring to run the club. Requires lots of dedication and definitely generosity. And they definitely gave to the club. Our "club funds" has grown due to their help.

Almost a new year. Happy New Year Grant and Ken. I hope Grant comes back to post some updated shots of the corals. :)
 
I've been wondering about his tank also.. I would love to score piece of his purple turaki if it's still kickin =)
 
While I haven't heard from Mr Walsh in some time (bum! I hope you're reading this!), and I am not in a position to speak for him, my understanding is that his turaki has gone to acro heaven. Sadness. A moment of silence please.

By some miracle, I have a tiny nub of it that has survived my egregious idiocy. Check with me in a year or so and maybe it will have grown large enough to frag.

I hope Mr Walsh returns soon to enlight us with his coral care methods.

with respect to the Turaki...that is a bummer...BUT banking corals with a friend is so useful; you are likely to lose it and it just may be the case that your buddy still has the frag you gave him and you can get a bit back.

I freely give out my best pieces to other SPS keepers whom I know are good at keeping SPS. Free coral insurance IMO.

Haha, hasnt arrived...rather annoying, but I'm hoping it will turn up sometime next week, as the postal service should clear backlogs.
