Bean's 300 Gallon AGE Build

Can I have 2 of your MP40QDs? Thanks!

I can't wait to see this thing getting put together! You have some great equipment already. It's going to be a killer build!

Hehe thanks. Luckily I already had the QDs from my previous tank. The flow pumps may get changed over time, but these will do for now along with the Sea Swirls.

Flow pumps always change! I'm using 2 gyre 150s right now and not happy with them in my tank. Well one of them I am but cant find a good spot for the 2nd. I want to try 1 gyre and a couple mp40s. Where are you planning to put yours?

No idea right now. Depends on my rock scape I guess. But my old 120 had 2 mp 40s on the back wall and a gyre on the side. That combo worked really well.

For this tank I'll have the Sea Swirls so I'll have to play with everything a little while to find the sweet spot.

I am looking for a CaRx Regulator recommendation. Anyone? Are the Aquarium Plants ones still pretty good? I don't need it atm but I will at some point. The tank will start out with the GHL Doser 2.

If anyone has a new one they didn't end up using I'd be interested. I've got equipment to trade or cash.

I just put one on it is doing what they advertise.

I have the AquariumPlants reg running co2 on my planted. Nice reg, very consistent and plug n play. There are some guys on the forums who make custom regs and I'd highly recommend them too. I recommend Alan Le if you go the custom route

Hey Bean, do you plan on painting or staining the plywood underneath the metal stand? I also ordered a metal stand from AGE and I'm trying to get some ideas.

I think Im just going to use some killz. Then use a thin rubber mat cut to fit the entire bottom. Bead of silicone or caulking around the perimeter. Easy to clean and will dampen some of the noise from any vibration.

Yeah, Kilz is a good idea. I think I'm going to stain the front edge of the plywood, directly underneath my tank, a dark color so it can match the black silicone.

I would seal it. i have mine sealed and has ran in high humidity and still like new.
The metal stand is showing rust before the wood shows damage.
Cody cant wait to see your tank up and running/mature.

Which sealant did you use? Does anyone know if Kilz comes in black? Thanks.

I want a few of these for Christmas. Sea Swirl Multi Swirls. I've been a good boy this year.

Nope, definitely next year hehe

I'll keep that on my list... I'm a little spent at the moment and the holidays are coming. Thanks for the heads up.
