Best skimmer for my tank, what do you guys think?

I would send it back to the shipper and have them deal with the insurance claim. They should immediately replace it with a new one after the unit is returned. Send them the entire unit and demand a replacement. I am assuming you purchased it new directly from the manufacturer or one of its authorized dealers. Filing an insurance claim with the shipper is not your responsability. If you purchased it used I would contact the seller and demand a refund. I will be selling alot of my equipment in the near future as I am getting out of the hobby after 20+ years but this is not the proper forum to post "for sale" items. Anyway thats what I would do if I were you to save a lot of time and hassle. A skimmer is a "must have" item for a successful reef tank in my experience and the sooner you get one the better your tank will look unless it is brand spanking new, then I would wait for the tank to "cycle". Good luck!:)
