It's a great skimmer, you'll love it. I have no doubt it'll pull some great skim from your tank. I would run it around 9.5" though for the best performance, especially for that size tank. The air silencer is right at that height though and will take on water as is. I just bought a rubber seal from Home Depot to solve the issue. It wasn't a perfect fit but it was close enough and is very snug as a result. I also put thread tape to help seal that screw as well and I have no issues with running it at 9.5" since the break-in. At first it overflowed and had to be adjusted to around 8.5".
I am not sure it can handle that unless it is pretty lightly loaded.
CO-2 might have been better.
I have a CO-1 on my two frag tanks both are 20 gallons 2'x2' tied to the same sump. It does a amazing job and is so stable.. It is basically set and forget for real.
On my 75 I have a RLSS R6-I and it does around 900 l/Hr air where the CO-1 does 360 l/Hr .. The RLSS is a little more money but I feel does a better job. At almost 3 times the air it does not pull 3 times the skimmate. What ever it is about the CO-1 it is more efficient. I would really like to put my RLSS up against a CO-2 and see how comparable they are.
