bgouges aussie SPS journey

And it's way too late to cut me a frag now because you're only doing it because i found out you deliberately sent a cool acro to Western bloody Australia rather than give it to me - the moon is closer ! ( and more inhabitable.

Thats a bit harsh Andrew hahaha :hammer:

Beautiful tank by the way mate!!

Hi Brok, i saw that you feed a lot of food and also add the aminos and vitamins from AF on top. Can i ask how much and how often you are adding the AF stuff to the system, is it a once a week thing or daily.

Don't suppose you can tell us what either of them taste like........... can't be worse than Triton cobalt. Looks like candy floss soaked in water......... it is most definitely not :reading:

Pics please :)

The aminos and vitamins im quite relaxed in dosing, majority of the time I only dose them twice a week depending how I feel. The energy is a clumpy funny smelling bloody liquid whereas the amino and vitality look like a craze green highlighter residue which reminds me of flubber! Still yet to put myself to the taste test so I will have to get back to you one arvo after I've had a few too many beers to care what the side effects are.

Will get you some pics this weekend :)

looks amazing Brok, nice one man

Cheers Sam :)

Your acros are amazing. Is that an Ice Fire Echinata? If so, was is aquacultured? What's your secret to keeping it?

Thanks.

Thankyou man, most echinatas in my tank arw wild. I do have two frags of sustainable reefs echinatas aswell. The icefore i think your reffering to is wild. Ive tried them from low flow and low light in my tank to top teir lighg and hight flow and it displayed its best colours about mid tank in a rather subtle flow patern. My tank is sort of made of two selves and it did best on an outcrop of a canyon inbetween both selves.

Heres some pics fellas, just some quick snaps :)

Stangey spath

Blue smooth skin that im rather fond of these days

Rainbow monti frag and a frag that fell into the abys that i tried to rescue.. allas i left it in the abyss for too long

I saw a yella terra that looked just like yours at Dave's today but i thought i would wait and see if you can turn the green into yellow first........ your kinda like a yella terra guinea pig Brok............. ;)

Cheers andrew! Yeh its got a bit of a different growth form and bilby sorta coralites think thats what gets me.

Haha i dont like my chances! Only got one yellow that i can keep yellow! I turn everything else into a bloody nice shade of green! Did alot of tank maintainence today so ill see if she improves. Tanks been neglected lately! So new carbon, replaced my empty bottle that has been sucking air or zeostart! Water change and cleaned out a few reactors and a quick sump clean. Fingers crossed!

Yellowey sorta robusta or microcladis i recon

Beautiful acros as always Brock, the weird swollen ends on the tips is what caught my eye at the shop on that yella (green) terra thing. I have faith in you buddy, i reckon you have a good shot at making it look yellow. :)

Can you tell me about the zeostart stuff, do you know what's in it and what effect you get from it. It certainly isn't doing any harm that's for sure lol.

Oh baby. That's what I'm talking about!
Beautiful shots.
Corals look like they are growing at least 5x as fast as Andrew's!! ;)

Matt, please don't upset Andrew.
We all know his corals are very slow growing as I have pointed out. Don't need to rub it in. :uhoh3::love1:

Nice photos - by the way, it's clear and bright.

In the United States, we would call them Growth Challenged Corals. So as not to hurt their feelings.

To be honest i used to use it for nutrient control before some aussie bloke stumbled upon the effectiveness of matrix and siporax! since then ive just been plotting along not changing too much. i only dose 0.5ml twice a day via dosing pump so i dont think itl have any drastic effects within a 1000L system.

Spectacular corals!!! [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]

Perhaps all this talk about Andrews growth got back to his corals which therefore stumped their growth due to hurt feelings? vicious cycle really isnt it.. :p

Considering that in all the years i've been on RC i can't remember once, ever having made fun of a fellow reefer i'm a tad surprised to be picked on by the RC rat pack............ :sad1:

You guys are like nasty bull ants attacking a helpless butterfly. I remember when i shoved a stick in a bull ants nest when i was 9 or 10 and a few of them bit me. I didn't retaliate, i just thought ' well i had that coming ' :)

Then i went home and got dad's tin of mower fuel and a box of matches........
