Black & Regular Clown offspring?, What do they turn out like?

I just picked up a pair of clowns, they are the spawn of a black and regular clown, does anyone know how they will turn out?

The LFS said they could be drab orange, black, or regular they didn't know they hadn't seen any of these as adults. They are currently drab I am hoping that they will turn black with some age, hope someone has experience.

Thanks!

The overall thought is that they tend to be brownish-or what some may call a drab orange. There is a chance they would stay orange-very unlikely that they would ever turn black, but the final verdict is still out as the young from these two colored fish are still fairly young <120 days, from what I've read. May be the source for you lfs. Some strains of tank raised blacks take more than 150 days to really start turning black. There is another forum that has the photo "proof" of such a pairing-but I dare not mention more than that-. For what it is worth there have been hybrids of maroon clowns with ocellaris-they were called coco clowns-because they were a brownish color. Not very popular-evidently most people are crazy about brown clowns.

Mine have thicker black on the dorsal and are darker in the orange areas, more like the one to the right. Do they stay looking the same as adults?

Thanks
