Received this new Clownish few days ago called Blacker Ice. Pretty nice Clown. Tomorrow I'll take some pictures and post it here.
Btw, if you have this fish please post pics as well. I'm eager to see what other Blacker Ice look like.

Blacker Ice? :headwally:

I'm not a fan of "special" marketing names. Step up and take a look at my china snow white naked jigsaw limited!

Apparently they're bred by Proaquatix--a cross between "snowflake" ocellaris and the natural black Darwin ocellaris.

oooh, thats a nice name. you better trademark it now before everyone else takes it.

I actually didn't post in this thread, because I have a pair of "Blackest Ice" clowns, and I didn't want the OP to feel bad :)

 I have a pair of "Blacker than Midnight on a Moonless Night" clowns. Only problem is, I can't see them against the tank background...

schabiazabi, we're just messing with you. The BI clowns I saw on the Proaquatix site are pretty and healthy-looking. If you're happy with yours and proud of him, you made the right choice. The designer clowns aren't my cup of tea, but as long as they're healthy and sound, they're inducing aquarists to buy captive-bred fish. That's a good thing. :spin3:

selective breeding, not inbreeding. in the wild you would be amazed at how many inbreed though.

Those two frequently go hand-in-hand. And unless someone is managing those captive populations against inbreeding... it's difficult to know. Some may be, but quite often not.

And... I was under the impression that dispersal during the larval phase was prevention against inbreeding in the wild. Did I miss some research somewhere?

belive it's a cross between a Black Ice and a Black Darwin.
- correct.

Btw, ProAquatix went above and beyond to get me few fish I wanted. No one else I contacted in this business was able to deliver like them.

nice fish Andrzej!

This is not a "blacker ice" but a premium black ice I have. He is already dark and only 1.25 inches long:

I have the same issue with my Midnights, can see them well against the background of the tank! I love them but hard to see....:)
