Gig tank is finally in place, it has been a long journey but seems very happy with the new set up, thanks Orion and taylor t for sharing your experiences:bounce1:

Yeah buddy! Looks good! Purple looks pretty shaggy! Great color too! Blue has nice posture. Purple's posture looks a little floppy, maybe just loving the high flow, looks good still... Keep an eye on them. No deflates, no gapping mouths allowed. :) First sign, check everything. How many hours of light are you up to now?
Pete, you really know how to pick em! I'll start my own thread to keep them seperate.

You guys and these gigs! Looking great.. I can't wait for our purple to color up like yours Peter.

One of these days I will have to make a trip down south and check these guys out!

These pics were taken after these guys swallowed shrimps for lunch! Thanks guys and no problem Tom, we are fortunate to come up with good nems. Hey Dave post a couple pics if you dont mind my friend on the two blue nems.

Updates on the nem tank, found this yellow green gig from local LFS, treated with cipro for 8 days

Interesting... That place seems to get bleached gigs more so than others around here but it's looking good... I love those green gigs :-)

yes one is still under quarantine, hope he makes it or I will just ask for credit. cipro day 8 on the other and still seem to struggle. I have to be patient, mouth is not getting any smaller either.

I wish there was a place around here that sold gigs so I could treat them. Mine were a one time deal. Those were the only gigs I've seen in the Seattle area in two years. So the possibility of finding a bleached gig would be welcomed:) But your doing it right from the sounds of it.

bleach due to the shipping time and but as long as the mouth is not wide open then we can save it but thanks to cipro and this forum that we can enjoy these beautiful creatures.

cichlid convert, i think this place ships to other states, I should give you contact info, will pm you then you can ask.

I like your blue, purple, and green combination... That's where I am hoping to go, but so far with getting two that did not need any treatment.. I'm going to wait a bit before trying a blue.... Tank looks good Peter!

I guess I should start feeding mine then. Because it seems to work for yours. They have been getting tiny mysis the last two days. And they have on two occasions had a couple large mysis. So today I fed mine a meal size piece of salmon soaked in Vitality (amino acids and vitamins) they ate it quickly.yesterday was the two week mark so it was time. It's nice to share ideas and experience with all.

The tentacles on the purple look like twice as long as the other two. Is the green showing signs of coloring up? Can't really tell from the pic. Thanks for posting the update.

the blue's tentacle is getting longer and seems fuller, will update pics once the green colors up, slowly recovering.
