Blue jaw wont move ?

Ok, i have had a blue jaw for about three weeks now. She I think it is a she has been eating like a horse I mean tearing it up. I woke up thhe lights came on at 8 a.m. and I fed about a half hour later andd the triger did not come out. I stuck my turkey baster in the hole to see if he the fish was alive as it was just not moving that I could see. I have not seen this fish shy ever tbh and is always' out swimming around.

Any idea's why it would all the sudden stop and stay under the rock ?

Unfortunately, there are several reasons which could lead to that. I would try and see if you can get a glimps at any out side appearances of any disease or infection. There is also a chance of cyanide poisoning, hunger strike from aggression, or effects from acclimation from the ocean. Hard to pin point. I can't suggest the next step until you've narrowed down some of the possibilities. Was this fish quarantined? if not, may I suggest future quarantine for such an event?

My qt is a 3 gallon picotope until my 125 is done setup/cycling. I did not want to get him to begin with but it was the wifes deal... Anyway, nothing on the outside of the fish that is noticable.

I had just purchased some new corals. I temp acclimated them and added them one of which was a galaxy that I removed a few hours ago and tossed into my Picotope and might actually toss it.

I am wondering if the blue jaw was hit by it and if so what are thhe reactions I should expect.

My scopus tang and foxface are also not as activer as they usually are. My blue spotted puffer is still moving about but not at the top of the tank as they all usually are begging for food.

I am wondering about thhe galaxy ( I do not know much about them other than I had it in a corner of the tank by itself as I know it stings corals etc and was going to take it too the lfs this weekend and get rid of it)

Everything is fine parm wise. He is still there under the rock he did turn around so I could see his head. He is breathing real hard.
My other fish are out and swimming around now as well.

rapid gill movement is usually a sign of a parasite. Whether it be flukes, velvet, ich or a few others. Treatment is a real possibility, but not in your main tank; and definitely not in a picocube. Perhaps taking them out right a way would be hasty, but instead, perhaps you may want to seed a sponge in your sump or in a hang on filter and maybe look into a 20+ gallon QT. It doesn't have to be a tank really. It can be a plastic container or anything that holds water. Any invertebrate will die in treatment so that is why it has to be separated. Rapid breathing is almost a sure sign of disease.

I finally picked him up and fed him alittle per some advice as he was almost lifeless. I then shut off the lights he moved into a corner and died within 20 minutes. No scratches nothing I can see on the gills NOTHING !!

My cleaner shrimp are fine and were working on him I have snails and they are still kicking some hadve died over the past 4 months but only about 4 of the ten I had. My other fish are not actinng like they are as hungry as they usually are when I fed tonight.

I dunno what is going on. I added the corals from zarro last week and that is the only thing I have done in the past month...

I have a tank being setup for a QT just do not have it up yet....

Sorry to hear of your lose. With a good QT regime you will have better luck. May I recommend no more additions for a while to see if you can't pinpoint cause of death.

You can bet on it. I do have one coral should be here tomorrow other than that im done for a long while.

Well, it seems it was just the fishs time to go... I had no other issues in this tank and all the other fish were fine up until my move back to florida a few months back. My blue spotted puffer was stuck to the side of my koralia 4 when I came home...
