No. Back then I couldn't find them whenever I went in there... then someone told me about some gal who had a deal with the owners to get advanced knowledge of all shipments and bought them right out of the bags for redistribution. That's how I heard it. Then I asked the owners if it was true and they confirmed it explaining that they had really poor survival rates. That they wouldn't be able to sell them because they died so fast. Going on to explain that the person he was selling them to had much better survival rates.
Don't take it like I'm actually mad. At the time I was more jealous than anything and now I have more clowns than I know what to do with!

What a bunch of you know what. I paid full prices for them, and the goal was to test the treatment protocol. I sold them to a few people, once I had several pairs that lived.

I don't know if anyone answered this question or not. I apologize in advance if this was, being a bit lazy and don't feel like reading all that have been posted. I know the question is not important right now because they are in a hospital tank.
Giganteas aren't listed as a natural host for the chrysopterus, but neither is an M.doreensis. My chrysopturus love their M.doreensis and some times prefer it over their S. Mertensii. The S.Mertensii IS their natural host in the wild. Silly clowns! What I'm trying to say is..you never know.. might take them a little while to realize that a gigantea is an awesome home. After you add them back to the display of course.

Clowns will take to all sorts of stuff in captivity. If it looks similar I tend to believe that they are more likely to use it as a host. You know, haddoni, gigantea and mertensii are kinda similar. Mag and mertensii are also kinda similar. quadricolor and crispa can be similar too.I don't know if anyone answered this question or not. Nothing unusual for suppliers and LFS's to alert their best customers of incoming stock, especially when the fish in question are death magnets.
It was not unusal for a few us to get such calls for Chrysopterus, Latezonatus, Sebae, Nigripes, etc. Tried a few Chrysopterus myself, but way too intense for my schedule. Somewhere buried in RC is a long diatribe relating my first panic ridden Chrysopterus experience.

Very true and I was never that particular establishment's best customer. There are some things I'd love to see them change about how they operate that I'd really rather not say in public. If they did I think they'd be one of the best LFS in the US. Their selection has always been really good.

I think it was three years ago that I lost mine to brook and almost lost my (at the time) new pair of leucokranos. This was triggered when I added a pair of nigripes to the system that came from somewhere a place near Andrews AFB.
That was when I started to learn the value of quarrantine. I'm still not where I want to be with my leucs but I'm getting closer. After three and four years they are still very skittish. Only recently have they started being somewhat OK with me standing in front of the tank. That said I have had five other leucs. Some were better.

Day 8 - nothing much going on other than maintaining copper and pH level.
Day 9 - Just gave them another Formalin dip and transferred them to their new QT water with copper and PraziPro.
I appologize for the huge pictures. I want to how MarinaP how their skin and fins look closed up.

i once have prob with my new saddleback clowns and she was the one who replied and gave her suggestion, i followed it and my clowns are alive today
Thank you. I have been guided by an expert MarinaP!I don't think that they would last to day 7 without her guidance. So, I am very grateful and I would like to publicly thank MarinaP!
I have not had one recover with that "constipated/blocked/infected" condition, so I don't have much to offer 
The "female" looks like it is doing fairly well, not many pock marks/pits in the head/lateral line area. That cant be a bad thing at this stage.

Me either. I had it happen to an akindynos female after 6 months. It just appeared and nothing I did worked.
