Red Spot Cardinals

Red Spot Cardinals

Here are the fishes that replaced the Tangs and Angel. I want to get more of them but they are such terrible shippers and i was lucky to have 7 live out of 15 that my LFS ordered.

Sand back in, i used about 40lb of CaribSea Arag-Alive to help lessen the cycle time. It was easy enough to put sand back in without disturbing the structure, I'm thinking i'll be replacing it every 6-12 months or so.

the fish are sweet. they remind me of tetras

Yeah exactly what i thought too, that's why i want a whole bunch of them and make my tank look like a saltwater version of those freshwater plant tanks.

those look very nice..
do they swim like tetras?
active at night?

Yes they do swim like tetras, it's cool because they school together the problem is getting enough of them to survive shipping and is the reason they are hardly available for trade. They come from Japan and Philippines and are very sensitive to ammonia, not very active at night but they do keep together out in the open.

Wow thanks for the nomination and thank you to everyone who voted for me!:D

those cardinals look great...do you know the scientific name for them? Was wondering if our LFS could get them in as well.

btw - ya got my vote! :D

Awesome tank! PLEASE keep us informed on how the parvulus do, rarely do you see these live past a month in captivity, but i've got my fingers crossed for you. Good luck.

i was told this fish does not survive in captivity:

is this just another myth? how long have you had them? what's your experience? where did you get them?

Yes that's what researched as well, but I could not help my self and had to at least give it a shot in my tank. So far so good it has been 2 weeks and they are eating well even flakes, unfortunately that does not mean they will survive. If they don’t then I’ll stock with long spine Cardinals instead.
