Bought new led light fixture from China.

The Sunrise effect is not like your normal sun rising in the east and setting in the west. Sunrise mode means that the intensity of the light increases gradually to the maximum setting and then decreases to zero. Sunrise mode on the Ledzeal units can't be programmed it's factory set; However, the DIY mode allows you to customize the intensity you want at what ever time you want. So for your four units, you only need one controller because all of the channels on each unit will increase and decrease together according to the DIY settings.

As far as the Lani units they look very modern with lots of capabilities but you can buy four S400 Ledzeal units for the price of one Lani. plus I'm not fond of one watt leds.

Cheers Gillguy
Good to know about the Sunrise sunset which is fine by me. Totally agree about price on the Lani compared to these but what are your thoughts about me going for no reflectors if possible like the Lani or 120 degrees to get better mixing of the different coloured LED's as they are spaced further apart from one another, rather than the 60 degrees ?
Cheers

Again it all depends on how high the lights will be above the water and how deep is your tank. These lights blend the colors very well even with 60 degree optics. Yes 120 will spread the color a bit better but you lose par at the bottom. The only color that does not blend well is red and that one I will always recommend 90 or 120 optics. You need to decide how high to place your fixtures and then decide on the optics.

Gilguy,

My lights are supposed to come in tomorrow at 8pm according to fedex tracking. If I have any trouble with programming the lights/setting it up would you mind if I pm you for help?

The other UK guy on here Maverick is selling his units already second hand ?
Say he's going back to Metal Halides, can't really see he's given them much of a chance tbh
Bit strange really as he had KEY KR LED's before

Well I was supposed to get mine in today but when I checked the tracking its still in HK :thumbdown hopefully it will get here soon!

I'm glad they came in. I have been following your other build thread and looking forward to seeing the lights on your tank.

I placed my order a couple of days ago with the layout I posted. Can't wait to get it...hopefully next week. Thanks for the help with the layout Gillguy.

You are going to love them. Best lights for the money out there in my opinion. Good luck.

I was just wondering about moonlight options. If I want to run moonlight do I have any options with this fixture or will I have to run something independently? I did see a comment that at 1% it is too bright for moonlight? I could wait until my unit arrives (hopefully next week), but I'm impatient. :)

No moonlight. At 1% it's too strong. You need to buy something separate.

Hi Gillguy. So far I'm very happy with the LEDs. I'm following the same schedule you have. Your max on channel 1-3 is 70 percent. Channel 2 is 60 percent. Channel 4 is 40 percent. My tank is 24 inches deep and the LEDs are only 4 inches above the water. Should the max be the same as the settings that you posted. What do you suggest? I have no corals yet. Again Thank you.

My present settings are channel 1 70% channel 2 65% channel 3 70% and channel 4 55%. I started at lower settings to acclimate the corals. If you don't have corals yet then when you add them just place them low and raise them up gradually or begin your settings at 50% and increase 5% a week.
