Bought new led light fixture from China.

I wonder if there a way to have this customized by LEDZEAL or do it ourselves?

There is not, it specifies in the controller manual the Sunrise mode is not customizable. the "DIY Mode" is the customizable version of the Sunrise mode, it just takes a while to setup the way you want it.

So here it is, I got mine setup and running finally.

Took 5 T5HOs off the canopy, and lid removed, all LED channels running at 35% intensity, and a single T5HO still running in the back. I plan to run the single bulb T5HO (superblue) for next 6 months while I bring the LEDs up to 80% intensity level (I plan to keep it at 80% max).

View from the top. The wire on top of the fixture feeds power, which is coming off of a separate power supply box. Next to it is a connector with a wire to the smart controller. The T5HO light under the canopy is visible.

Picture of the tank with each channel at 100%.

Channel 1 - 12000K white

Channel 2 - Royal Blue

Channel 3 - green + UV (1:2). Didn't expect the greens to be this strong, I may consider replacing them in the future. UVs don't generate much visible spectrum.

Channel 4 - blue. Running these at 1% is almost good enough for a moonlight.

During sunset, no T5, LEDs only (all channels at less than 18%)

for comparison, here's more recent picture with 6 T5s.

Anyway, so far so good, all corals appear to respond well to the new light.

Next few months will be interesting, I'll be monitoring all corals closely while slowly increasing the light intensity every week.

Can you post a picture of the custom layout you used?

Hi rlantigua if you look at post 494, it shows my layout. I think this solves conix67's issue with the extremely bright green. if you pair them, as gillguy, many others, and myself with an extra set of blues, then you can lower the reds/greens without loosing a lot of blue or uv, i think its a more flexible setup.

Got it... was looking for page 494 LOL...

going to have Kevin made the same one. I just got a used Savvy tank 36x24x20

What kind optics should I get?

IDK, you might want to ask Gillguy, he'll probably tell you to go with 90's. I went with the 120's because my tank is only 12.5" high and didn't want to spot light everything and i'm pretty happy. I've thought about buying a few 90's to mix in and see how it affects lighting. If you go with 90's, have them put 120's on the green/red if you end up going full spectrum

set up the S300 last night with a custom hanging kit from a friend of mine. The unit is very clean and quite. I'm sorry for not posting a picture as I don't have a good camera (just the iPhone). I set it up w/ Gillguy's schedule with the max % at 50% for now to get the corals used to the lights. So far, i love the "shimmer" effect on the water. Will post an update soon.

I have a 180 gallon, 72" x 24" x 24" what do you guys recommend and what would the cost be?

Sammy, the ideal setup for you would be 2 s400 (5 FT) units side by side with 60 degree optics. This is because your tank is 24 inches wide x 24 inches in depth. The 60 degree optics will allow you to penetrate to the sandbed. However if you by only one unit you can still get full coverage if you get 120 degree optics and have the unit at least 12 inches above the water but with this setup your light will not be as strong near the bottom of the tank. If you don't have an SPS tank then 120 with 1 unit will give you full coverage. If you get 2 units the shipping is only slightly higher and you will only need one controller. it comes with hanging kit. If you want brackets i believe they are $10. The s400 are $298 each + controller $55 + shipping apprx $90.

This is my layout as well as jombolo's. As you can see, the green and red are in the center and flip flop for every cluster.

Thanks. I'll email Kevin and have him make the correction on red and green. He needs to have a
Gillguy version of the lamp.... Lol

The layout they sent you is actually not bad except you want more royal blue. You can tell them to replace the 4 Blues on channel #L3 with RB. Those are the ones on the corners with the UV in between or tell them you want my layout, if you are dealing with Kevin just mention my name, (Julio). He knows my layout believe me, I made them change it about five times. I don't know if you sent it to them but if you did not reply and attach it.

Julio. I have seen some tanks that are pitch blue all the times. I don't want the tank to look to Dark

Will so many royal blue make it to Dark?
