breaking glass

How many people here have had to deal w/ broken tanks from their mantis shrimp? I'm considering setting up a tank for one, and, correct me if I'm wrong please...they can't break acrylic, but I can't seem to find any acrylic tanks "nano sized" around here. Just curious how likely it is that they'll smash a tank?

Only the largest peacocks (Odontodactylus scyllarus), perhaps over 5 inches, are capable of breaking a glass tank outright. Slightly smaller O. s. and large G. chiragra will occasionally chip the bottom or corner and cause a leak. Your standard 3 inch N. wennerae or G. smithii do not break glass tanks.

On the edge. They usually aren't that big, but I have had them break out of some plastic containers that we use to hold animals.

Eclipse are fairly inexpensive and come in several sizes 3-12 gallons.
Petco should carry them, as well as LFS.
