Here it is, total darkness except the illumination from the tiny LED light.

Do they all get along for the most part? I've been talking to ppl that did harems with my clowns and seemed like most are doing ok with a group of 10 so far.Mine are so big now! They have broken up into 3 distinct family groups and one loner"¦. The one loner is the one in the BTA LOL
I've never done the clay pot before, but definitely something to think about.
In the meantime, there are 3 tiles in there all glued haphazardly. Take that! Ha!

Yeah, I've seen some videos with the pot and airstone. It looked like it helped circulate the water over the eggs very well.Nice! The great thing about using clay pots is putting an air stone through the hole, which keeps water rolling over the eggs. As long as it's not too strong.

In the meantime, the magnifica moved an inch over and those clowns are still looking for their original egg laying spot on the rock.
Then I came in and made this work of art just now!
This Friday (next egg laying date supposedly) can't come soon enough!

Clowns/magnifica 1, Jamie 0.
I gave up on the tiles: the magnifica walked all over the tank. IME, mags are a lot more prone to walking compared to gigs. Previously with gigs, I could stick tiles everywhere and no one cared! Anyway, can't risk other corals getting stung, so the clowns won: tiles removed and eggs laid directly on rock again
Here we go again!

When I was busily removing tiles I realized that the entire rock the clowns are laying eggs on/where the anemone foot is sitting on, is relatively small and thin. Must not waste a great clutch of eggs! Larval trap is too risky . Come next weekend, the entire rock + eggs are coming out for hatch night! Stay tuned!Oh man, that looks like a good size clutch too. Ugh! Try a clay pot or if you have a small palm sized piece of LR, put that near them.
Looking good! Seems like they've grown a good amount.I now have 7 hosting my nem ( you can only see 6 in this photo)

So, after all the initial craziness, I finally ended up pulling the big rock + eggs and brought the whole thing into the hatch tank. They hatched last night! I was nervous about introducing hitchhiking predatory pods into the hatch tank so I didn't leave the rock in there too long.
Larvae! (If you can actually see them!)
