Brown slime on platy

I have a nice Aussie platy gotta I picked up about a year and a half ago. On the very top however the skeleton is taking on a bit of a brown or charred color. It sort of resembles slime that didn't wash away, turned brown and stayed there but it won't blow off, I recently noticed it spread and can no longer be removed with a turkey baster this piece sits high on my tank but not directly under a light. I will try and post images a little later. All water params check out. Sg1.025, phos 5, nitrates 3, kh 9, any thoughts or experience with this issue is appreciated

So the left half has completely receded, I did move him lower in the tank back around April... a few months ago. but that did not seem to help. Although there was a large rock on the left side so I pulled the rick out a couple weeks ago. Doesn't seem to make a difference but they are slow growers....

mod: please move to lps forum
