Tom- I've always wanted a Litermeter but for topoff (only) they seem to be a very pricey choice. The Spectrapure litermeter I got used for a good price has run contiuously 24/7 for over 5 yrs as a kalk doser drawing and pushing 18 to 20liters per day over 30 feet without issue but it's pricey. I've replaced the tubing once but the original was still in good shape.
BRS is replacing my failed unit which is still under warranty.
I'm not a totally satisfied customer.
I would have preferred credit towards a Litermeter.
I'm relatively new at owning an ATO. Up until February 2012 I avoided them because they're prone to failure.
Thus... this thread is ironic.
These things have bottom of the barrel motors in them, it probably just burned itself out. You could probably get a bare replacement motor on eBay for a few bucks. There are also sellers on eBay selling pretty much the same device and some of them sell the motor, gearbox, and housing separate from the head and tubing. I would be tempted to take the motor out and run it alone to verify if it was the motor vs a stuck gear or something. Does it draw any juice when it's plugged in?
I would loan you one of my spare dosers but they're all 24v dc...
