I don't do anything. It's under 640w of VHO, about 1/2 way down. 2 false perc clowns host. I am sure they take a little bit of food to the anemones but I never feed the anemones directly.

What size tank you have that in?

Sounds like you're headed that way :)

I managed to trade 12 of mine this spring but it's about time for them to split again.

I might want one when they split if I have the lighting.

Thanks Ron, If yours isn't splitting then at least it assures me that I'm not doing something wrong, lol. My tank seems to be taking off and everything is growing like crazy. My fish are all getting so big, and the xenia has taken over. I"m gonna have to set up another tank for it to thin it out, lol. And I saw the mantis shrimp today, close up, and man has he gotten bigger. I shined a flashlight on him and watched him, it was very interesting. I wouldn't mind keeping him, but I already promissed him to someone. He's so funny though.

Yeh mantis are a cool creature :)

I know what you mean about xenia, I have been weeding it out of the 125 display at the shop weekly now and it really is a lot of work to maintain it where it's at.

Please tell me how you guys are doing that, them spliting
I don't do anything special either except keep the tanks stable.
Mine usually split twice a year May-June and Oct-Nov.
They've followed the same pattern for 4 years fed/not fed kept under pc, vho, and mh hosting/not hosting clowns. Occasionally one splits at a different time but usually it's one that didn't split "on schedule". Not every anemone splits every time though, thank goodness.
I've heard there are two types of btas and the deep water variety is a non-splitter. Then again I've heard my bta was a deep water type :rolleye1:
Mine do split less often than the smaller, supposedly shallow water, btas.
I might want one when they split if I have the lighting.
LOL waiting on them to split isn't the problem, I've still got more than that left, getting them out of the tank is.
We had to completely dismantle one side of the tank and still couldn't get to some because their foot was so deep in the rocks.

Well if you manage to get some out let me know. I might want one.
