Bubble King & "Mini" Bubble King Skimmers Coming Soon - New Lower Pricing!

This was two days of skimate I was getting from my Deltec AP600. Just for reference this is how much skimate is comming out of my tank every two days. So far the mini hasn't even came close to this. Jeremy PM'd saying Klaus never made it to MACNA because of shipment of materials. I wonder why he has no time to respond on this thread about the problems with the mini 200.

I was just talking to another reefer on the phone who has expressed there complaints to Jeremy about their Mini 200 not working. He said Jeremy has been playing phone tag with me all day long. I been home all day and haven't heard my phone ring at home or on my cell especially having caller ID on both phones. I think I am just going to file a complaint with my credit card company. I am not too happy about this.

Deltec,

I sent you a PM at 10:30am this morning, in which you replied later this afternoon. After I sent the PM, I left work, as I have been working night and day since last Tuesday, I decided to take this afternoon off, I hope you don't mind that?

I am not ignoring the situation at all, as you are insinuating. I have not talked to one single person about you other than another person with a Mini 200 who claims that he can't get skimmate unless the water level is up to the seam where the cup is. I told him this is not a problem, as he originally said he is having the same issues that you are. He is not though, and I tried explaining this to him.

I said in the PM that I'd be more than happy to call tag the pump to test it and see what's going on with it. You agreed to that, and gave me a phone number to contact you at 3:40pm this afternoon, and obviously I have not been back on since then. Then exactly 4hrs later you are posting that you might just file a complaint with the credit card company. If that's the way you feel, be my guest. I'd be more than happy to take the skimmer back from you and issue you a full refund, as I have plenty other people who are wanting the unit.

I apologize I took the afternoon off after working for the last 8 days in a row, and wasn't able to contact you immediately from when you sent your PM.

If you want to do a full refund, just let me know, I have absolutely no issue with that.

By the way, the "reefer" you are referring to has flat out lied to you, as I have told no one that I have called you, or even tried to contact you today.

I am the reefer that has spoke with deltec. i told him that i have been emailing jeremy about the problem i have with the skimmer(not skimming) as deltec an i have the same problem deltec also has another problem. In the email back to me from jeremy i told deltec that jeremy was playing phone tag with him i confused call tag with phone tag that is my fault. I was not trying to start any problems i was talking with a fellow reefer trying to figure what the problem is with the skimmer.

First of all, I don't want no test. The pump is making a knocking noise. Right there it should be replaced without question. Then there was the cnc shavings on the pinwheel which should have never been there. Because of this skimmer not working properly I lost a supermale Lineatus and a Supermale Rhomboid fairy wrasse last night totaling $650.00. I did a water change and the water is still brown. When I hooked up the crappy red sea berlin skimmer it skimmed like mad. So obviously something is wrong with the BK pump. The foam is not even making it up to the collection cup. Its not even brown foam. I would like my money back. Please PM me when you want me to return it.

Wow Deltec, I'm sorry you're having the issues and I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. But my experience with PA has been nothing but stellar. I've ordered thousands of dollars over the years.

Are those fish really that sensative that a few days of less skimmate would kill them? I turn my skimmer off for weeks at a time when I go on vacation and days at a time for business trips. Usually come home to some cyano but nothing more. I'm not trivializing the situation - and I feel bad for you. But it just seems odd.

Good luck, sorry to hear about your fish man.

about 4 days of skimming

It stinks like hell !! Damn ! And it's very dense and dark !!

I love the fact that you can easily dissasemble the collection cup and clean it out. It's the best skimmer I've had so far and I would recommend it to anyone, without a doubt !

Makes me wonder, where all the crap is coming from ??? I would have never guessed so much crap would come from 30 lbs of cured live rock + 2 fishes ???

Geez ! Makes me wonder if I'll take a swim in the sea next summer

And I have spent alot of money too at PA. I just ordered a pair of 175 MH Iwasaki 15's. But when the pump is making a knocking noise and you have cnc shavings on the impellar and then jeremy wants to test the pump which should be automatically replaced is unexcusable. This skimmer has been running on the tank since 9-4 I only took it off for a few days because of the knocking noise and used the red sea berlin which pulled out a ton of skimate. If I didn't put the red sea berlin on I would have lost alot more high end livestock. The fairy wrasses are not sensitive. When you have to feed them heavy which is required like anthias you expect that high end skimmer to pull out the waste which it didn't. The foam would not even make it up to the top of the collection cup unless I raise the water level way beyond the black line and soon the water was leaking out of the bottom of the collection cup because the water level was high in the skimmer. Thats the only way I got any skimate which is wrong. This isn't a few days, this has been going on since 9-4. The pump should have been replaced immediately without question the first time I brought it up. There are two others whose BK mini 200's are not working properly. I won't get into there stories which they have PM'd me. Whats even more sad is Klaus I have noticed peering into this forum recently has not responded once. I just want my money back and move on.

DeltecRules

sorry for your loss again .

i have in my tank 4 waresses to and i feed very heavy to 2 time a day and sometime i shut off the skimmer for week or 2 and never lost fish from that reason .

as i know jeremy , i trust him 100% and i know that he stay behind everything he sell and i boguht from him like other a lot $
and i believe to every word he said here .

again sorry for your loss and hope everything will fixed soon.

Thanks, but I believe I have a smaller system than you. And for my system I have a really high bioload so I don't really have much room for error. I feed my wrasses and butterflies three times a day with big portions of mysis soaked in selcon and vitachem. And I also feed my tank coral food for my softies. I hold this skimmer responsible for my deaths. Another reefer who owns a a BK mini 200 who is having problems like me lost two high end sps colonies.

I have 8 clown fairy wrasses, a Temmincki (which has gone through hell and back), and now 4 Scotts in my 125g... along with a Yellow Watchman, Yellow Tang, Red Sea Purple Tang, Striated Tang, Pac Blue Tang, Pyjama Cardinal, Royal Gramma, and a Lamarck's Angel. I shut off my skimmer over the weekend (to get some 'worst case scenario' readings for comparison... nothing had a hard time. And I am only using about 90 lbs of rock, 80 lbs sand... although, I do have a refugium...

I could see corals having a reaction from lack of skimming, but not fish. The nitrites and ammonia that would spike would be more harmful to inverts first... and then your live rock should be able to take up the slack (converting to nitrate if nothing else). I could see more yellow water as a consequence... long term difficulties... from not running a skimmer for a few days, but not sudden fish death... unless oxygenation is a serious problem in your tank.

Just something to consider before its all the fault of the BK. Of course, you do feed 3 times a day... that might have been the deciding factor. I only need to feed 1x per day with my fairy wrasses... do Lineatus and Rhomboids really need that much food like Anthias? I didnt know that. I was considering a Lineatus... didnt know they needed that much food though. My scotts, Temmincki, and Solars only get fed once per day and they are rather fat buggers... not trying to win any 'grow-out' contests though.

I have owned fairy wrasses for the past 10 years. I have learned that if you don't feed them at least twice a day they will loose weight and perish over time. It does depend on the fish though. The lineatus is easy to take care of. But once they acclimate they can become bosses of the tank. Very bold. The rhomboids I have had in the past can be skittish but the one I had was bold and he and lineatus sometimes didn't see eye to eye. The good news is that the females survived, females are harder to find. Just make sure if you buy a lineatus make sure he is eating. My LFS got a few in and they had pinch stomachs and it looked like some kind of internal parasite.

The soft colors didn't suffer that bad but my spaghetti green leathers were closing up, which was depressing since the true greens are hard to find. My Tyree toadstool wasn't looking to happy either. Oxygen has never been a problem for me in my system. I have 4 Tunze 6045's, and a Eheim 1260 as a return pump which provide alot of flow in the system.

Good luck Deltec, I'll bet we know what you're gonna buy next. :) Man you must really be at the max of a 75. Like I said, I've turned off my skimmer literally for weeks. Actually for 2 months when I had the 120XL and my fish/corals were fantastic. Just some algae.

Its always hard to switch equipment when a tank is already running - I recently had an issue with my Sfiligoi. Its fixed now, but it took months. I lost a lot of corals. But there are plenty of very happy Sfiligoi owners out there, so I can't really blame the fixture. Just some bad luck (and slow customer service - but we're talking months). I'm a little nervous about some new equipment coming in soon - I hate changing stuff on a set-up thats already somewhat dialed in.

I had nothing but excellent experiences with my BK, performance and service.

But good luck man, glad to see you're getting your $ back since you're not satisfied.

must have moved recently - your info to the left says st louis - yea - I walk to the rib often
