Bubble King & "Mini" Bubble King Skimmers Coming Soon - New Lower Pricing!

I Think i will try one out, The decisions LOL, The 300, or wait for the new style? Hmmm Thats the toughest decision!

hmm how long they will last... hah that is like asking me, someone in car sales how long an engine will last.. uhm forever sir as long as cared for, but in the end it is man made. ;)

cost of replacement would be nice to know as well as my earlier question of ease of cleaning/servicing

Jeremy, how long will the bubble king mini pumps last and how much are replacements for each model?

Scott

With proper maintenance this should not even be a concern. :)

Replacement price is $475, $730 and $780. Having said that, as long as you keep the pump clean and are doing your regular maintenance you shouldn't have to worry about it at all. I have seen Eheim last for 8-9yrs on a skimmer and are still running.

Cleaning and servicing the pumps are actually very easy. When you remove the skimmer from the sump the bottom plate will come out. You then remove two titanium screws holding the pump onto that plate and you're good to go.

That's a LOT of dough for a replacement pump. Like you say though, if you take care of it, you've got nothing to worry about.

Just an observation, but based on the pump pricing it seems that the mini160 is over-priced. The difference in price between the 160 and 180, and the 180 and 200 is almost identical. However, the pump on the 160 is much less expensive than the other 2. The cost of the acrylic work should be relatively close for all 3 units.

Again, just an observation. . .It won't stop me from purchasing either the 160 or 180 but it seems odd.

I'm just setting here on pins and needles, waiting on that freight truck to back up to our dock! :)

That's pins and needle-wheels, isn't it?

:D

just curious..do you guys leave your skimmers running 24/7 ?

Any benefits on shutting down the skimmer at night ?

Jeremy, any news on the arrival of the BK's?

.. the shipment is outside from Germany.....

regards.. Klaus

Hi Klaus, what skimmer should I use for a 375g tank with 100g sump with heavy bioload? will the bk300 be sufficient enough?

Klaus, anyway you can show a movie of the mini 200 in action? I seen the 160 in action but would like to see the mini 200 in action.

Scott

Why is there such a price difference between the bm160 pump and all the others. That replacement pump cost is a little scary:eek1: .My wife would kill me if I bought this skimmer and had to replace that pump it's almost like buying another skimmer.

I think you guys are looking way too much into replacement pump costs here. How often do you replace a Sequence or Iwaki reteurn pump? The Red Dragon's are just as reliable, if not more, then those pumps and you could expect to get 7-8yrs avg. life span out of them. These are not your typical little Sedra or Octopus pumps you're dealing with here.

I know people who had eheims running for more than 10 plus years without any problems what so ever. I really hope the red dragon can go 12 plus years without replacement witht hose price of replacements.

I know but my real question I guess why such a difference in price between these pumps.there can't be that much more material used.
