I know people who had eheims running for more than 10 plus years without any problems what so ever. I really hope the red dragon can go 12 plus years without replacement with hose price of replacements.
When was the last time that you use the same brand of skimmer for more than a year ? I will not worry about a replacement pump if i was you i know you will be looking for something different in no time

LOL nope this will be hopefully the last skimmer I buy in a long time. The AP600 will be on the 55 gallon frag while the mini on the 75 gallon with 30 gallon sump. I am sure the mini will be the best in performance I ever had so far in any skimmer so i wouldn't have to worry about another skimmer again even if I ever upgrade to a larger system :D

LOL Ill just keep my current name since my Deltec isn't going anywhere. What do you think of the mini's design?
I think they are made to go in very small areas in the sump if you have the room go with the regular ones .
But for a small tanks they are going to be the ones to get.
I'm going to get a smaller tank soon, the big tank is getting old i don't like to have 250G of salt water in my A/C /Heater unit, all the vents are on the floor .
I like the BK Mini's so i need you to get one and tell as all how they work and some pictures of the Nog :D they produce.

The mini's are a little short for my tastes, but thats just me. From what I have seen, they are very calm inside, with a very stable foam head... and the skimmate production is top notch. I cant argue with those results.

I do wonder how they will run for those with tanks that are more mature and/or have lower skimmate production. This shouldnt be a problem, as I just dont think we will see anyone running a mini-200 on a 65g any time soon... but who knows.

Hi Klaus, what skimmer should I use for a 375g tank with 100g sump with heavy bioload? will the bk300 be sufficient enough?

I'm trying to decide here whether the bk300 would be sufficient enough for my setup or is the extra $1k for the bk400 is worth the extra money. This is the 3rd time I brought this question.

Or should just forget about BK and get an ORCA instead?

I'm stoked to see user's experience with the BK Mini. The 200 actually produces more air than an Eheim.

I'll let you know. . .I'm looking at the 180 to replace my Elos NS1000.

:D

Yeah but the price of the mini 200 pump is making the deltec modified eheim looking like a bargain..LOL

I am going to get a mini 200 but I wish they made external versions.

They do... its called the 'deluxe external'...lol.

FWIW, Klaus will make you anything... he has and will do custom skimmers... for a price.

With proper maintenance this should not even be a concern.

Replacement price is $475, $730 and $780. Having said that, as long as you keep the pump clean and are doing your regular maintenance you shouldn't have to worry about it at all. I have seen Eheim last for 8-9yrs on a skimmer and are still running.

@xinumaster

i think the BK 300 is the best skimmer for you. The Needlewheels on the Bubble King Deluxe using a new needlewheel design where make a little more airintake as 2000 Liter/h..
So the 300 is the best skimmer for your tank...

regards.. Klaus
