Bubble King Skimmer Club

I am looking at getting the BK180 mini. What water height in the sump does it operate best at? Also if there are any micro bubbles in the sump, will it affect the skimmer?

Thanks,
Ken

Just replaced my old ELOS sump with an awesome custom trigger system ruby elite so i could fit the BK 160. The water level is at 7.25" high. What should I set the water level in the skimmer? At least initially so I can fine tune it? Currently the foam head is below the bottom of the cup, but if I increase it slightly it will overflow. Kind of touchy =P

Just joined. I'm getting my mini 200 tomorrow I'm really looking forward to getting it running. What's the best depth to run at.

What is the best feed pump for the BK400EXT? or I would say (GPH) I am using the BK2500 pump on my BK400.

Thanks,
Lam

I would do 1-1.5 times the tank volume. Example 100 gallons would be 100 to 150 gph.

I dont know much about the mini's, Sorry i cant help much. I believe its 7-8 inches.

does anyone know the dimensions for the Bubble King 180? Including the tube to adjust the skimmer? I'm going to make a new sump but cant take apart the skimmer and old sump ATM

11" x 12" base (you'll need 12" x 12" to properly allow for the intake)

22" tall

Just got my set up going. I have a bubble king mini 160. It currently sits in water 11 inches deep. I almost feel thats a little too much. Does any body have input on whether I can work it as is, or do I need to raise the skimmer?

My 160 sits in 7 inches of water, and I have the waterline right up to the water level marker. Skims a little wet.

I read the manual said around 7 inches of water is best. I'd raise it a tad if I were you anticarp

does anyone know if the BK300 external works as good as the internal version? And does anyone have any pictures with there external's setup?

Thanks

IMO A ext works in many ways. First it gives u room in your sump. which is great. the biggest thing about ext are that people tend to over flow them then say they are crap. NO the thing with ext unit is yuou need to run a smaller pump that it is rated for so you dont get the overflowing and curse words happening. With my tanks i have a deltec 851 and i run about 200 gph through it. my BK Sm260 well its a insump i didnt have the funds to get an ext.

The clear acrylic outer tube on my collection cup has come unglued from the white base. Has anyone had this happen? If so, how did you fix it? It seems like a simple fix, but I don't want to rush in and do something stupid. It's a BK mini 180.
