Bubble King Skimmer Club

Does RE manufacture calcium reactors or kalkwasser reactors?

Kalkwasser reactor is under development. Maybe middle of year. We testing a Prototype with a magnetic-stirrer. Coming in Dreambox-Design.

Calzium reactor end of the year....

Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone can help me out? I have a Bubble King Mini 180 and the Red Dragon Pump has stopped working. I took it out, gave it a good cleaning but it still won't start up. It's like the pump tries to start but won't turn. Anyone know if these pumps can be repaired?

It's most likely the motorblock that is going out on the pump. It's an epoxy filled block, so it's not repairable, but you can indeed replace the block. Price on it is $229.

I want to buy a Supermarin 250...what the best pump to choice ?
The regular red dragon or the speedy 3....what is the advantage of the dc pump ?
Thanks !!
David

I would highly suggest the RD3 powered skimmer. These pumps are without a doubt the quietest pumps in our hobby, period. On top of that they've been extremely reliable so far as well, and they're more efficient with the ease of adjustment with the wattage control rather than an adjustable venturi.

I'm setting up a 260g tank, and looking to join the club. Do I want the Supermarin 250 or 200 (or the Double Cone...)?

Either direction you go between the Super Marin and Double Cone will be just fine. For that size tank you're right inbetween the 200 and 250, I'd probably go that route of the 250 as it will not really be oversized on that size display assuming the bioload is heavy. I would not suggest going any smaller than your tank size with the 250 series though.

Welp, I placed an order for a BK Supermarin 300 for my 465 gallon bare bottom sps tank with 155 gallon sump, probably 450 net gallons. Hope to be a skimmer carrying member of the club in a couple weeks.

Jeremy, tell that container ship to get a move on and get you those skimmers!!!

Since I am posting here, is the SM 300 a good choice for the system, Jeremy? Seems I am on the cusp where a SM 250 or 300 might do it, but I am about two-hundred liters higher than the lowest system volume recommended for the 300. Tank is pretty heavily stocked, with 6 tangs and about about 25 other fish from smaller to medium size, including a Quoy's Parrotfish, GoldFlake Angel, and Blueline Angel. Couple of the tangs get pretty big as well (Naso, Unicorn, Desjardinii).

In my opinion no, I would go with a 250 series instead of the 300. The only way I'd consider the 300 for you is if you're going to have a stocked sump, such as a growout tank, etc. I think the 250 would yield better performance in this situation.

Thanks Jeremy....I just called and changed the order to the 250 from the 300.

Good call on that, I think you'll be much happier with the performance on that size system out of the Super Marin 250 than what you would with the Super Marin 300.

@loweryster..

maybe middle or end of the Year. Yet the moment we have any new developments at work :

> Red Dragon 3 Speedy Pumps, 50 and 80 Volt with new 10 Volt Port for connection to a Apex Controller...
> Red Dragon 3 Speedy Pumps, Modell 130 and 230 Watt ...
> 50 Watt RD5 metallic ( Made complet in Titanium Grade2 ) 12 Volt Propeller-and Skimmer Pump..
> 12 Volt DC-Pumps, with 100 and 150 Watt Power ...
> 10 Volt Entree and Webserver for RD3 Pumps ...
> Calzium stirrer and Calzium-Reaktor ...
> Bio-Tower for the Dreambox Filters

Zeoreactor coming, or i can not say ,when....

best regards to USA ... Klaus

Great! I just bought a Speedy 3 50. Will I be able to upgrade the controller for the 10v interface? I'll be using the speedy as a return pump so if I can't upgrade it, it won't be a big deal. It will be great though to use these pumps for closed loop to create random flow by ramping them up and down.

Yes, the 10 volt connection is under development, ready next month. Jeremy ask me for this. The next batch 50 and 80 watt want have the connector serial in US-voltage. Yet the moment the RD3 Speedys are only as return pumps.
If you want go with the Apex or Profilux-controller, you only have to use an optional 10 volt inverter, especially for the smaller RD3 Speedys. So it is possible for use the RD3 Speedys for closed loops.... The 130 and 230 watt RD3 Speedys have it all serial, for the 50 and 80 watt RD3 it is optional. The most 50 and 80 watt are going as return pumps. The 10 volt connection was developed after many requests from customers.....

Little Update

The Bubbkle King Deluxe is now serial with the new RD3 Speedys. The Design was updated now.....

best regards ... Klaus
