BUILDING A DREAM....SPS Dominated Tank build

Hi geaux xman,
Thanks for viewing.
Tank dimensions 165cm L x 60cm W x 50cm H

I've followed for a very long time and really enjoying all the pics and seeing the build progress.

What is the glass thickness on the tank?

I am looking at doing an upgrade on my 34g reef. Not quite sure what dimensions I want to do yet.

Update...
Current fish list:
Yellow tang
Flasher wrasse
Yellow belly damsel
Purple fire fish

kind of bland on the fish list?

Hi geaux xman,
Thanks a lot for the kind words and compliments.
I appreciate it that you are following my journey and it interests you. Thanks for the time.
The glass I have used is 19mm.
:lol2: LOL yea the fish list does appear bland, right. To be honest I'm planning this to be an exclusive SPS tank and aiming finances to collect SPS and reliable equipment. Exotic fishes are really taxing on the budget as of now....but I am on the look out :)
Multiple numbers of same/similar species is the aim, I think it creates a visual impact. But I'm still weary of adding multiple fishes too quick as I feel the tank is not yet fully stabilized.
Best of luck on your upgrade.

Hi

Hope u don't mind iv used a few of your pics for my tank
Sorry :)

Hello Jay,
No worries bro. I feel humbled by that you like what iv done with my new setup.
I never believed I could inspire someone. But it feels great that I could. :) Thank you.

you will need a show fish?
any tangs or angels?

Hi geaux xman,
Well yeah...if I start wishing the list is never ending :D
But I'm planning to add a juvenile queen angel down the road and watch it grow into an adult. This has been my dream since I started this hobby years ago....I'm hoping to make it happen with this build :)
I'm planning to add few selected species of anthias also. It's a waiting game :headwally:

I have not read through the whole thread but my hat is off to you so far. A couple of questions what kind of wood did you use of the stand? The Siam Reactors look like avast reactors and your video of the BK skimmer reminded me of the Ah Ha video Take on Me at least the beginning does. Nice work keeps my motivated to get my 40 breeder up and running.

Hi moondoggy4,
Thanks so much for taking the time to go through the pages and also for the words of encouragement for me.
I really appreciate it that ya went thru the videos I had made...each one of the videos are special to me :)
The wood used is marine ply.
The SIAM reactors are working well and they are in white so goes along with the white theme of the build :)
Wish you the best on your tank.

Update...
Since the first addition of SPS corals 2 frags underwent RTN.
Iv added more frags and cultured SPS which seem to be stable and showing good PE.
Took a few snaps which I wanna share :)

Also in the fish department I have a new addition...

This species fish shows a lot of character. This guy makes me feel he is the one watching me rather than me watching him :D...pretty amusing fish. Not an active swimmer but hangs around his favourite overhang keeping a watch on whats happening around him.

Sweeeet! Youve been busy

Hi Kevin,
Thanks bro. Yep am hunting for SPS. Soo tempted to add LPS and few clams. But I'm dreaming of keeping a juvenile Queen Angel in this setup so I'm resisting :headwally:
I'm waiting for a captive conditioned juvenile.

Question...
Anyone with experience keeping Queen Angels....
How are they with:
- Chalice corals
- Clams
- Acanthastrea
- Mushrooms

Any advice relating to Queen Angel husbandry would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance :)
