Also known as a desjardini tang. :)
hard to tell from the pic as its fins aren't extended, but it didn't look like a desjardini. looked like a 'standard' sailfin (don't know their technical name).

I hope I didn't get ripped as it was bought as one. Here is another pic:

You can see here at liveaquaria what a juve looks like:

no, that's a better pic. definitely a desjardini. those are awesome fish. i put them right there with a sohal......actually, that's what you need no that you've got a good size tank. a nice Sohal.

That's what I thought it might be. I just got one of those a couple of weeks ago, about 5" or so. Really great fish! Mine eats just about everything, but I mainly feed it nori and herbivore pellets. Here's mine:

Aren't sohal's very agressive?

they can be, just like any other tang. my father in law's got one with a desjardini and a hippo (maybe more, haven't seen his tank in a long time). the sohal will likely become the king of the tank, but the others will still stay out and swim.

Yes and in a 210 it will likely kill off your other tangs and other food competitors. For it to live with other fish i think its needs a very very large tank. But should be fine for a while but for a the long run i would pass on it. Anyways how is the maxi jet 1200 working for your skimmer?

So far so good. I am considering adding another input to the skimmer from the drain to supplement the 1200 as well.

Haven't decided yet...

a 210 is plenty big. i've seen sohal's happy with other tangs in a 125.

Hi guys, been reading along have given much input but would like to say love the way the tank is coming along. I have a 210 myself and just wanted to see if I could steal some ideals.

Also, Sohal while young are good, not great fish but as the get comfortable and grow they will get mean and bully everyone and everyone that is introduced. I've seen it several time at the LFS that I worked at.

Beautiful tang and nice tank. I have one that is a pretty nice size. It will do fine in your tank and it will be a little bit bossy but it isn't too bad. IMO, yellow tangs are much worse. Just wait till get it gets older and color morphs. When they hit 9+ inches, they get absolutely amazing!

That's what sh....

I'm hoping my guy color morphs soon. I've had him for 8 months already. Any guesstimate on age to the morph?

I'm not sure on the age but mine is getting more blue in it. It is about 5 to 6 inches long.
When I first got him about 6 months ago.

Very nice Jay - I think mine is a little on the young side. I'm hoping it lightens up more as it gets older.

I've noticed them get a bit darker. You've seen Marcyes at SITC right? That is the reason I bought one.

Some new images from the 210.

This one is showing great growth since the switch
