Bulk carbon at BRS

Can someone tell me what the difference is (besides price) between the Premium ROX 0.8 Aquarium Carbon, the Lignite Aquarium Carbon and the Special Grade Bituminous Aquarium Carbon??

I will be using it in my old Two Little Fishes GFO reactor with a small MJ400.

I used Rox08 only for years - very high quality and usage was minimal (i.e. need less carbon in system for affect). I recently picked up a 5 gallon bucket of the bituminos carbon and really liked using less carbon...lol. I swap mine out every two weeks (4 - 6 cups for 330 gallons). Too much rinsing, dusty mess. As for the lignite, haven't tried it I will likely move back to the Rox08 though. It is so clean, rinsing it may not even be necessary.

Have fun!

I've been using ROX .08 for several months. It's the nicest GAC that I've ever used. I rinse it before sing, but never notice any visible carbon dust.

Amen to that. That video is what sold me. Just got some with the group order and used it in a dual chamber BRS Carbon/GFO reactor. No noticeable dust after a short rinse. Water seems to sparkle, may just be the power of suggestion, but either way, I'm very satisfied. A little ROX goes a long way!

If I can get in on the Group Buy starting this week I will definitely be switching to the Rox carbon (because of the video). I'm currently using Black Diamond brand and it definitely has to be rinsed thoroughly before use, very dusty, but does work fairly well.

I've used the rox and lignite. Use about a 1/3 less rox and leave it for 5 weeks vs 3 with lignite. It has less( very little) dust.
