Butterfly fish from live aqaria (not divers den)

I can see why. I never saw posts about them before but I didn't look as hard as I should have. I really want to add a saddleback, but after seeing the reaction of the auriga I'm thinking it might not be the best idea. Maybe an acclimation box would work...
The auriga seems to cooled down a little bit and the other fish are able to explore the rocks on his side of the tank. Every once in a while he will chase one of the three new fish but it doesn't seem too bad.
I'm curious how was your auriga with other additions that were not butterfly fish?

Monday the falcula started eating! He eats pe mysis and rods. The thing is that he will eat it and spit it out several times and I can see he takes in some pieces before he spits it out (like my old cichlids use to eat pellets). He tries flakes sometimes but just spits them out and he will only try the light white pieces. He stares at them and if they are not the right color he passes it up to go look at another.
The aggression carried on for about 3 days. The auriga accidentally charged the raccoon while chasing the others and the raccoon went nuts. He chased the auriga around for at least a half and hour. My teardrop has settled in and now challenges all of the other fish including the auriga. I have one more round of fish that will go into qt tomorrow. I'm a little bit worried about how the other fish will react.
These butterfly fish remind me a lot of my old tangs except on a smaller scale. They are extremely active eat a ton and can be easily agitated.

My trusty fish trap caught the auriga. He was my primary cause for aggression and would actively seek out a fight. My teardrop has become the alpha fish, and would challenge the auriga. I'm hoping my falcula will settle in a little bit more now that the auriga isn't chasing him around. I have an Asfur angel and a few other surprises in qt also. Just started cupramine yesterday.

Well it seems I've corrupted the power hierarchy in my tank. Now my teardrop is trying to establish a territory and my mertensii and dot dashed are being chased out of his area. He doesn't mind the falcula or raccoon. I'm beginning to think multiple B/F's is a bad idea...
If anyone has any experience with multiple B/F's in a large tank I'd love to hear them.

The teardrop is in the fish trap. I'm going to see if there is any aggression in my tank. I may start adding a trigger and a tang or two and go back to the aggressive style tank since these B/F's will not play nice.

It sounds like you are having an exciting time with the type of excitement you could do without. My 4 - yln, saddleback, double saddleback, and falcula - get along fine except at feeding time, and it isn't too bad then. You have a lot of room, so you would think they would spread out and not fight.
I have upped the amount of food so that may help, plus I feed my aggressive fish, the ulietensis, some pellets before putting the main food in the tank. I also spread the food around and leave my Vortex and another powered running to spread the food out.

I dump food all over my tank and it is just a free for all. I think part of my problem is that my tank is so big that they are trying to establish territory. My tangs were so big and fast that there was a pecking order but no one could claim any part of the tank as their territory.
I wouldn't mind adding some tangs but I'm affraid the falcula would starve.
